What you'll do

Discover the joy of crafting your own stunning silver ring adorned with vibrant stones alongside artist Shirley Wu.

In this beginner-friendly workshop, delve into the fun experience of silver-clay and stone setting. Get hands-on as you mold silver-clay, creatively set stones using tools, and craft a beautifully organic ring. Experiment with up to 10 heat-resistant stones, such as cubic zirconia and spinel, to create your unique piece!

Your ring will be then fired and polished in Shirley’s studio and will be ready to pick up in 2-3 working days.

PS: The workshop is available at 2 venues (CBD or McLaren Vale); please select your preferred location.

Due to the cost of hiring space, class no more than 2 participants maybe cancelled or rescheduled.

Shirley Wu is a multiple award winning emerging artist who has her studio located at the Fleurieu Arthouse in the winery region of McLaren Vale, Adelaide.

Inspired by holistic therapy from my previous training in Hong Kong, I have a strong interest in how the creative process generates healing in mental health through meditative making and sensory experience. My practice crosses contermporary jewellery and sculptural object making by using glass, silicone, stone, ceramic, metal and other materials, through lampwoking, moulding and casting, metalsmithing and stone caving techniques.

Had the best time with Shirley! They were so helpful, informative and had some really amazing chats. Was awesome to checking out the art exhibits while waiting for our rings to dry so we could sand them as well. Was given all the tools needed and loved the whole experience from beginning to end. I did this workshop as I wanted to learn what I could prior to making my own jewellery from home with pmc and learnt more then I expected. Its an incredibly therapeutic craft, perfect mindfulness activity.

Loved this class! I was amazed by the ease of working with the silver clay, just incredible. Adding the stones was the fun part :) Shirley is a great teacher, ready and willing to help and offer additional info and advice.
