  • 5/5 from Anita Vel, attended Sep 2026: Great class with Pegah. She was very helpful in guiding us with our Owl painting.. using different techniques to get the different effects. Will definitely go to her class again. Anita
  • 5/5 from Lilly Hoogervorst, attended Jul 2026: Lovely teachers. Venue verynoisy parking was expensive. We loved the experience. Thank you.
  • 3/5 from Donna Barber, attended Jul 2026: First time at Paint & Sip. Nice location but hard to hear instructor unless you were next to her as there were other diners there in the restaurant. Individual advice would have been helpful but still had an enjoyable afternoon.
  • 1/5 from Giomar Vanessa Lopez Rozo, attended Jun 2026: I was really disappointed with this painting class. Unfortunately, the experience did not match what was advertised. The class was poorly prepared, with essential materials missing. At one point, there was no blue paint available because it had run out, which made it difficult to complete the painting as instructed. Communication was also challenging, as the instructor had difficulty explaining the steps clearly in English. As a result, many participants seemed confused and struggled to follow along. I understand that things can go wrong, but when people pay for a class, they expect the necessary materials to be provided and the instruction to be clear and professional. Overall, I did not feel that the service I paid for was delivered, and I would not recommend this class based on my experience.
  • 5/5 from Victoria Pitfield, attended May 2026: Friends and family get together. Great fun, relaxed atmosphere. Demonstration was clear and well paced. Gorgeous painting..loved the final paintings.
  • 5/5 from Asha Dunlop, attended May 2026: Great class with helpful instructors! Thank you for teaching us how to paint so beautifully!
  • 3/5 from Karen Britton, attended May 2026: The team did not give instructions on different brush techniques only placement and colour mixing. My brushes were wet from cleaning different colours- so the paint dripped as canvas was on an easel. Would have been helpful to be told to use dry brushes. And ran out of paint, had to put hand up and wait a long time so was behind every instruction. There was no microphone lapel to hear the main instruction be given out. The main instructor was talented and only seemed to encourage those who moved along quickly. And when switched instructor over was not available to room. The seating was difficult as we were only given seating next to a column or pole, dispute me having a walker. So the registered sign up needs to have a section where can mark disability or open seating is needed. Even when we have name of our confirmation there was no given disability access or end of table seats. I was very embrassed as came back from toilet to find instructor completely lost as to what to, she did not ask venue staff for help, and was non communicative with the view to expect us to find the solution for her. There was a male with a pram/unpartnered waiting for seats as well. We were not accommodated to extend a table and pram was given priority. We were out on back corner so far away from instructor, that it hardly made it worth attending. Despite this we made our own fun. But feel inclusion was not offered to ask other participants who were able bodied to move down the table. So I could have my walker beside me should I need to go to bathroom to relive myself. I should also mention I am going through stage 3 breast cancer, where treatment has effected nerve endings in feet and hands. And my OT recommended art therapy to assist with movement. Mother’s Day is particularly hard for myself and my sister having lost our mum several years back. It was such a disappointment to not be considered to be part of group where we could learn from instruction and enjoy the way we wanted to.
  • 5/5 from Jessica Price, attended Apr 2026: I took my 11year old son to this class and it was wonderful. This is my third time booking with Wesley Taylor Classes. A relaxed atmosphere filled with banter, laughs and fun energy. Thanks for having us, we will be back!

  • 4/5 from Paula Edmondstone, attended Dec 2023: It was good fun, explained really well teachers where supportive & patient, Venue was good, Great nite
  • 5/5 from Stephanie Kyriacou, attended Nov 2023: Our teacher was very nice and created a relaxing and peaceful environment. She also was very good at showing us what to do.
  • 2/5 from Jenny Jones, attended Sep 2023: Was somewhat disappointed. The class size was WAY too big. The poor teacher rushed everyone through as quick as she could, darting from this person to that. We arrived just as class started but two unexpected additional attendants had taken our canvases so we had to wait for teacher to go to her car to get canvas for us which she did after she had demonstrated first four steps to class. Most of the class we were saying "what" and trying to remember the three steps ahead she was as we tried to catch up. Because the class was overcrowded, we were seated where we couldn't see anything. Half way through i gave up. This was my birthday outing that i had been hugely looking forward to but the huge class size and minimal equipment available spoiled what could have been great fun :(
  • 5/5 from Robyn Rickard, attended Aug 2023: Great art experience and lots of fun too! Venue is relaxed and well set up, and teacher was skilled and took the time to explain and demonstrate each step so that everyone in our group came away with art they are happy with. Would recommend
  • 4/5 from Lisa Austin, attended Aug 2023: Teacher was great and helpful. Good affordable price. However venue not ideal at all, pub was loud, smoky and small space. I took my 9 yr daughter and it wasn't a great experience
  • 4/5 from Faye Ashton, attended Apr 2023: We all enjoyed our painting experience. Having never attempted painting before I think I did quite well. Thankyou
  • 5/5 from Greg Halves, attended Mar 2023: Emma was a great inspiration and helped the needy. We would recommend the class to friends.

  • 5/5 from Gwendoline Evans, attended Feb 2023: Had a great time at the class with my granddaughter. The teacher was very informative. The venue was OK although a bit loud. But the atmosphere was good. Would definately do this class again.

Providing social art classes in beautiful South Brisbane

4.7 (2,502)

I'm a Brisbane-based artist, and I've been painting and drawing since my early childhood days. I was fortunate to receive a scholarship from the Queensland Art Gallery, which gave me ample opportunity to pursue my passion and hone my skills.
I'm very much inspired by the beauty and diversity of Australia. Many of my paintings focus on landscapes, surrealism, animals, and people. North Queensland is a particular favorite, and you'll see the influence of coral seas and mountain landscapes throughout my artwork. I have a post-impressionist style through which I try to capture the wonder of the world around us.
I specialize in pastel on card and acrylic on canvas, though I'm also experimenting with abstract and airbrush.
I've been fortunate enough to display my work in many art exhibitions and have been the recipient of many prizes and awards.
I offer Paint and Sip sessions along with Clay and Sip sessions, both at discounted rates for ClassBento Patrons. I believe in bringing these experiences to the customer at the very best competitive price possible, the real Australian Way. We have the largest range of paintings available with over 80 paintings on the gallery page of Wesley Taylor Art Studios, with the painting for each week found on the web page.
We hope you enjoy these sessions for a fun experience. The paintings are creative for maximum impact of colors, while keeping in mind first-time painting experiences. Those with a little more practice will create some amazing pieces.
Let us plan your special events!
“Everyone has an artistic flair and simply needs to be pointed in the right direction."
The Wesley Taylor Art Studios Mission initially set out to create workshops at half the cost of other workshops for customers to be able to enjoy the experience of creating a piece of artwork. This endeavor was to create the foundation of employing artists with a like-minded sense of assisting customers to enjoy this time out while creating new art experiences. The goals of value for money for customers and employment for artists to run these fun activities that may mark a milestone, a birthday, a hen's party, a social activity, a first date, or company team-building events to build and strengthen relationships with a common bond of creating something new.
