Papercraft and calligraphy classes for beginners
Paper craft covers a wide range of disciplines and activities that benefit your mental health as well as helping you grow your artistic abilities. Some of the most popular forms of paper craft are decoupage, collage art, and creating handmade cards. We even offer you the opportunity to learn how to do origami; one of the cornerstones of paper craft. Ink art is also one of the most popular Brisbane activities, and being able to learn calligraphy in a relaxing and peaceful setting offers you an opportunity to really turn off and re-connect with yourself. Paper craft holds its origins in many different countries all over the world. So depending on which class you choose you’ll be able to not just expand your brush lettering skills, but discover a little piece of history from other cultures and philosophies.
Paper craft is one of the most rewarding things to do in Brisbane if you’re looking for relaxing and inclusive experiences. Whether it’s learning how to do origami, mastering your decoupage skills to create unique collage art, or simply taking some calligraphy classes, the meditative benefits of these workshops can have profound effects on your mental wellbeing. As a society, we spend so much time in front of screens that it can be crucial to our health that we engage in activities that help us switch off and get back in touch with our imagination and ourselves. Paper craft - and calligraphy in particular - prides itself on being a form of mindful movement meditation, and is a fantastic way to relax and re-centre.
What to expect at Brisbane papercraft and calligraphy classes
The peaceful and zen-like atmosphere of calligraphy classes and origami workshops offer you something a little different from our other Brisbane workshops. With a focus on clearing your mind and helping you de-stress, you’ll be doing your mental health a favour regardless of whether you’re learning decoupage, or enjoying easy origami for kids. With so many fun things to do in Brisbane, paper craft and calligraphy classes will help you unwind and detox from the stresses of every day.
Many of our paper craft teachers can tailor their Brisbane workshops to suit your specific needs. Whether you’re looking to learn how to do origami with a large group, or chasing a collage art class for just yourself, never hesitate to contact our class instructors ahead of time, to ensure you get the most out of our Brisbane workshops.
Most of our collage art workshops offer additional extras for private groups upon request for parties who are celebrating an occasion or looking to make their workshop extra special. So if you’re interested in creating a truly memorable experience, never hesitate to contact the instructor ahead of time to ask what additional extras they may offer you. Many of our workshops are - or can be made - BYO, so you can enjoy a wee drop of vino while you learn how to do origami with your friends.
Paper craft and calligraphy are great for your wellbeing
Indulging in arts and crafts is a fantastic way to maintain and get on top of your mental health. Many people enjoy art therapy as a way of dealing with complex emotions, and creative outlets have been found to reduce levels of stress and anxiety considerably. Paper craft, brush lettering and calligraphy classes are particularly effective, however, as they work as a type of mindful movement meditation. Meditating doesn’t just relax you but has also been found to reduce swelling in the brain and lead to an overall sense of happiness and fulfilment. By reducing your overall stress, you significantly decrease your chance of stress breakdown and stress-induced medical problems, such as heart attacks and high blood pressure. Want to learn or experience something specific? You can easily contact our teachers and arrange a custom workshop at your preferred time and to suit your skill level. If you’re looking for a unique and memorable event these workshops are perfect things to do with friends on the weekend, for aged care groups, team building activities, indoor things to do, and kids weekend activities. We've got a range of teachers who cater specifically to larger events, and we can customise classes to meet your needs. Get in touch today and we'll put something together for you.
