What you'll do
In this hybrid self-paced course, learners will be guided through a series of projects to help you gain confidence with using the important Photoshop tools integral to drawing. You'll learn gain insights in to Jenny's art making process as we'll as the following technical skills:
Topics covered include:
- Creating a new document
- Importing sketches and other media
- Navigating around the interface
- Common tools and keyboard shortcuts
- Commonly used panels
- Drawing natively in the program
You're welcome to bring your own sketches and artwork that you want to digitise otherwise you'll be provided with resources to work along with during class.
This course is perfect for the busy individual who has no time to travel to a single or multiple class sessions, you may have tried learning the program yourself but you prefer some hands on guidance and feedback. This course is the perfect balance you get access to videos of the technical side that you can revisit, you get access to our online community to learn from other students and there's also the option of booking in additional 1:1 time with the instructor via Google Meet or Zoom.
About the instructor:
Jenny Mai trained as design and visual art teacher at university, before she fell head over heels at being a museum educator at the Powerhouse Museum, where she taught kids and adults how to express their creativity digitally through art making, video editing, animation and coding. Later she worked for an educational tech start up building and teaching clients how to create online courses. She has a deep understanding of how to structure content so that it's easy to understand and approachable.
