Discover how to easily make your favourite pickles and ferments at home at our hands-on pickling workshop in Unley.

Guided by your friendly teacher, you'll be taken through the pickling process step-by-step. Our Adelaide cafe is focused on providing fresh and sustainable food to locals, so you can guarantee you'll be learning from the best!

Classes are hands-on and fun and cover the basics of these timeless food preservation techniques including:

  • What pickling is, why it works, and how to do it
  • How to choose your ingredients and find creative expression through pickles!
  • How to ‘can’ your pickles for the pantry shelf using items you’ve probably already got in your kitchen
  • A (very brief) introduction to fermentation and how to make the best sauerkraut you’ve had yet

On the night, everyone will make a jar of mixed vinegar-based pickles plus a jar of fresh sauerkraut to take home. We will also wheel out our own pickles to snack on as we work.



Knowledge required
Absolute beginners welcome.

Everything about this class was excellent: preparation and presentation of all types of pickles, enjoyed with descriptions of each and to make our own pickles with incredible range of fresh vegetables.
