Portrait Drawing Workshop for Teens

Teens will take their first steps towards creating captivating portraits in this engaging school holiday workshop

10+ years & Adults     2 hours Class size 1 to 12 guests

$80 - $85 ($85 per guest when you book for 1 guest, $80/guest for 2+ guests) (PayPal Pay in 4 available)

Hosted by portrait artist Darren Wells, your teen will learn the secrets behind his style and get hands-on with creating a portrait of their own using graphite pencil. Covering everything from how to get the most out of their equipment to using stylised markmaking and blending techniques, this workshop is sure to tap into their creative spirit.
We welcome students to bring in a printed A4 black and white image of the subject they’d like to draw - and yes, this includes pets! No reference? No problem! We’ll share a range of options for them to pick from, and help them understand what to look for in an ideal reference image. If purchasing the supplies bundle, your teen will get to take their equipment home with them to continue their portraiture journey.
We encourage teens to bring their curiosity and creativity and discover the foundations of bringing portraits to life.

My name is Jen and I am passionate about encouraging creativity in students of all ages.
Creative Kids Co was founded 11 years ago as a way to encourage and guide children through their own artistic journeys.
I am also the co-creator of IMOK (Art, T-shirts & Design), established in 2004, which opened up the door to commission and exhibit my own artworks, complete illustrations for a series of books, as well as sell my wares at design markets nationwide. I have also held live art demonstrations and was the featured artist with US Surf/Skate Company Volcom.
My current passion is working with resin and urban illustration.
Most recently I have opened Creative Corner Studio in Dulwich Hill, an exciting space hosting all things creative for kids and adults. Reach out and let’s create together.
