Have you always wanted to try hand-built pottery but weren’t sure where to begin? Join us for a beginner-friendly pottery experience in North Adelaide!
Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience with pottery, we welcome you to explore this creative and relaxing art form. In this 2-hour class, under the professional guidance of our skilled instructor, you’ll learn essential hand-building techniques like slab and pinch construction. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to create a variety of forms—anything from decorative animal figures to practical coffee mugs. You'll also be taught how to apply different patterns and textures, making each piece uniquely yours.
Our friendly instructor will be there to provide suggestions and personalized guidance based on the shape and design you choose. If you’re unsure of what to make, don’t worry! Our studio has plenty of reference catalogs for inspiration.
We will provide all the necessary tools and materials, so you can focus on enjoying the experience without any pressure.
Whether you are looking for a new hobby, a way to relieve stress or just a fun holiday activity with loved ones, this pottery class will be a memorable and rewinding experience.
Please note:
*An additional $50/Hour/Group will be charged for over 2.5hs in the store.
*All pottery will take approximately 2-4 weeks to fully dry, be glazed, and fired. You’ll be notified when your pieces are ready for collection.

The teacher was friendly and welcoming firstly providing an overview of all the other activities/classes that could be booked at the studio. It was not clearly explained when showing us the examples of pottery already previously made that the wheel made pottery was not something that could be replicated by hand. The teacher seemed to be trying to explain more about glazes and finishes at this point which was not relevant at the time. It would be much better if the wheel made items were separated on the shelves from the hand made items and clearly labelled as such especially for beginners with no real background to pottery methods etc. This caused confusion for some of the group who had never made pottery before when selecting the type of object they wanted to make and one of us had to try and re-explain to the group. Once we had made a selection of what we wanted to create we could bring fired products to the table to ‘copy’. Everyone chose something different in terms of shape and size, however, the teacher didn’t seem to give this consideration when showing us how to first make a hole in the ball of clay in front of us. The teacher didn’t ask who had had previous experience and therefore didn’t change her support to suit the varying levels of understanding and skill in the group. The class was very poorly guided and it felt like we were mostly left to our own devices with occasional input from the teacher who was just sat at then end of the table making her own pot. Although the teacher was polite and helped when really needed or asked by us, she didn’t provide enough assistance or guidance to make it an informative session. It would have been better if she had spent time with each person around the table fully understanding what each person wanted to make and then providing guidance based on that. For future classes I’m not sure ‘free rein’ to decide what you want to make is advisable if the class are beginners. The session was a birthday present for one of our friends and it was very underwhelming. For those who have never done a class before this could have been a very off putting experience. For the people who have done classes previously it was no where near at the level that it should have been for the price we paid. As we were doing this as a group experience we still enjoyed it from a point of view of us all being together and we had fun, with lots of laughter (sometimes at how bad the class was) and at our differing abilities but we definitely would not recommend anyone or pay to go there again.
