In this workshop, you'll learn to make your own ceramic pieces from scratch. From cups to bowls, you'll be amazed at what you can create in two hours.
Our friendly teacher guides you every step of the way in a supportive, encouraging environment. You'll start with the basics—centering and opening the clay—before throwing your own pieces.
Plus, for an extra creative touch, you can choose from a variety of underglaze colours to paint your work and add sculpted clay details before it goes into the kiln.
We take care of the glazing and firing for you, and your finished ceramics are ready to collect in approximately 6-8 weeks.

  • 4/5 from Sandra Winder, attended Sep 2026: This was an enjoyable first step into pottery. It was straightforward to book with our gift voucher and the teacher was very skilled and helpful. The session went quite quickly and by the end we all had something useful, practical and attractive to show for our efforts. It was actually about 1 hour 40 minutes. The decorating part of the experience was fun because we could individualise our work. At the beginning it would have been helpful to have another 10 minutes of practice with the clay and an emphasis on a few basic tips about how to work with clay on a wheel, to help us avoid beginners mistakes. Overall, I would recommend the class as a good way to begin your pottery making journey.

  • 5/5 from Michelle McBride, attended Aug 2026: She was very caring and helpful
  • 4/5 from Isabelle Morrison, attended Aug 2026: Teacher was very lovely! Maybe could have given a few more pointers to correct any mistakes/been a bit more hands off, but all round was a great experience and she definately knew what she was doing! We were able to choose what to make (bowl/mug/etc) and then got to add any features and paint the glaze on too. Make sure to look up some design ideas beforehand to save time!
  • 1/5 from Krist Kakarriqi, attended Aug 2026: We attended this pottery class for the first time with two friends, and unfortunately, it wasn’t the experience we were expecting. Firstly, the actual venue looked quite different from how it was advertised. We were willing to overlook that, as we were mainly there to enjoy the experience. However, as complete beginners, we expected more guidance and assistance throughout the class. Unfortunately, the instructions were not explained clearly. When we were doing something incorrectly, we were simply told that we were doing it wrong rather than being shown how to do it properly. At times, the instructor would just fix our work herself instead of explaining what we should be doing or how to improve. When it came time to paint and decorate our pieces, there was even less assistance. We were given only a few colour options and received virtually no guidance or suggestions. The instructor was mostly on her phone, and we were left to figure everything out ourselves. The space was also quite tight, which made the experience less comfortable. As this was our first pottery class, we were really hoping for a fun and welcoming experience where someone would guide us through the process and help us learn. Unfortunately, we didn’t feel supported or instructed throughout the class, and the overall experience fell short of our expectations. It could be a much better experience with clearer instructions, more hands-on guidance, and an instructor who is more engaged with participants, especially beginners.
  • 5/5 from Hayley Beckwith, attended Jul 2026: Fantastic activity! Such a great idea for everyone. Three of us went as a pre uni catch up, something fun to do and omg it delivered! We all had good laughs and really enjoyed doing something new. Teacher was great at giving guidance without doing it for you and everyone in the class got a great little keepsake
  • 5/5 from Lana Johnson, attended Jul 2026: We were lucky we had a small class and our instructor was able to assist with the different techniques- so enjoyed making our special pieces. Strongly recommend
  • 5/5 from Leonie Kowald, attended Jul 2026: Was a fun evening with the girls. Learning how to do pottery on the wheel
  • 5/5 from Jacqueline Finlay, attended Jul 2026: My daughters and I had a lovely, fun time at our class. Our instructor was patient and clear with his instructions. Would recommend
  • 5/5 from Angelo Pedicini, attended Jul 2026: I booked the class for my teenage boys as something different to do during school holidays. We absolutely loved it. The teacher was great and provided the right level of guidance and assistance. Our creations did flop a few times but the teacher was there to help us get back on track. My boys surprised me with their creativity - my youngest made a Sponge Bob bowl and the oldest made a vase resembling a rose. You leave the items there to dry, and they will do the glazing and firing and contact you when they’re ready to collect. Definitely encourage dads and sons to do this session and my boys have said they want to do it again.

  • 5/5 from Lila Jaensch, attended Jul 2026: The class was great, and teacher was very friendly, my friend and I really enjoyed it! The only feedback I have is that our session felt a little rushed, and I also would prefer to be given tips rather than the teacher doing the fixing for me.
