Looking for unique things to do in Perth? Learn how to make your own DIY terrarium!

This is a class for the curious and experimental. You'll make a beautiful terrarium, as well as be taken on a tour of suspended moss balls, vertical moss growing plus staircases and waterfalls.

Because of the intimacy of the class (up to four people) we’ll work closely on the design of your terrarium. You’ll choose from a wide range of plants, stone, wood and ornaments and various ways of arranging them.

Imagine creating a forest of your own, or a jungle, or grassy plains. You will make a bioactive terrarium, create an ecosystem inside your jar that will self-sustain by mimicking the ecosystem around us.

Plan for the class to run overtime - our aim is to provide you with a truly unique experience that matches the ticket price!

Depending on your whim and the availability of materials, you’ll leave with one or two terrariums at the end of the class.

This class is made for 2 to 4 participants. We're happy to accommodate a slightly larger group so message us if you have an idea and we can plan something fantastic.

Please note: This class requires fresh supplies and organic material that are occasionally out of supply due to environmental events like heatwaves. In the unlikely event that we don't get the material, we'll cancel the class and fully refund you and inform you via email.

I learnt about plants from my grandfather. I would watch him pull carrots out of the ground and wipe the dirt off on his pants. He would bend down from his place in the clouds, where giants lived, and hand them to me. It felt magical. And it still feels like that every time I start working my fingers through the root of plants for my terrarium.
