Peter's reviews

Louella is incredibly knowledgeable about the subject. She gave us the history of where the world of perfumes came from and how it has evolved over time. This gave us a much greater appreciation when it came time to finally put together our own scents.
It was immediately clear how passionate and it was contagious such that we all got excited to get to work.
I finally understand the texts on the back of those fragrances boxes when it says things like 'Top Notes', 'Base Notes', 'Heart Notes'.
What would I change? We unfortunately ran out of 'Lilly of the Valley' which was a very popular fragrance used for our class. I'd recommend having 2 of everything as a 'just in case', so should we ever run out of things during the class, she'll have a backup ready on the go.

It got me interested in the world of perfumes and fragrances even after the class was finished, I immediately started researching my favourite scents and because of the knowledge Louella gave, I knew what to look for.

Would I go again? Yes, but with better prep this time :)

Perfume Making class review by Peter Phan - Sydney

I actually wasn't able to catch the teachers name. But it was clear he knew what he was talking about and he really did care about the subject.
He was kind enough to tell us the entire process from start to finish on how making beer works and why Brix differentiated itself from others.
We only had time to make 2 cocktails but he told us the origins of the cocktails which was a very fun history lesson.
When it came to actually making the cocktails, he went through every intricate detail such as shaking the mixture, to pouring the drink to presentation. We went home and bought a bunch of ingredients for making our own cocktails and used his teachings immediately. Really cool stuff! I'd like to eat there sometime.
