I grew up in pottery town, learning about old techniques of tea bowl maker from my next door. I was fascinated watching it thrown. That was my first step into Tea world.

While I lived in Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan, I learned about kimono and tea ceremony.
I organised and run guesthouses(small tea house inns) and cafe in Kyoto.

Through this Tea ceremony, you will feel atomosphere changes when you are in meditation state, allow yourself relax and calm.

This class was absolutely wonderful. We were guided through the process with lots of help and support, but were given a lot of freedom over the beads we wanted to make. Colour, shape, and style were all up to us, as well as the finished piece we wanted to make the glass beads into. It was a lovely, relaxed environment, and I never felt uncomfortable or out of my depth. My best friend and I booked this experience as a fun activity while I was visiting from Canberra, and we enjoyed it so much, we would definitely do it again next time I visit.

Skye was lovely and very welcoming into her home. She explained the process of glass bead making extremely well and then after choosing the colours of glass we liked, she helped guide each of us in making three of our very own glass beads which was a lot more involved than I thought. After cooling and cleaning the beads we set about threading them on to key charms - which is now proudly hanging on my car keys. I thoroughly enjoyed the class and meeting new friendly people.

Teacher's response

Lovely to have you for the bead class Jenny. A key chain you made has perfect color load. Hope to see you soon.

Skye was such an amazing hostess, she made my daughter and I feel so welcomed, explained Japanese Tea Ceremony, dressed us in Kimonos and spoilt us with a calligraphy session and made Japanese sweet treats. After collecting Japanese tea sets for years, attending the Japanese Tea Ceremony was an absolute pleasure, relaxing, informative and delicious. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has any interest in tea, Japan, doing something out of the ordinary or just having fun with friends. Skye, we will definitely be back!
