Terrarium Workshop: Staircase Feature

Looking to stretch your experience in making terrariums or to challenge yourself with new experiences? Join this engaging class and build an impressive feature in your hand-built life in a jar!

This class will begin by recapping how to effectively construct terrariums to ensure their long-term health. From there, we depart from the usual construction of a terrarium to focus on the design and techniques required to build a feature staircase.

As we look at a few stair-making techniques, you will decide on the design you wish to follow and work to construct your own DIY terrariums. Depending on timing you will construct one or two small terrariums and one larger terrarium, demonstrating different types of stair making, for you to take home.

This class is designed for those with great enthusiasm for design and the willingness to step outside of their comfort zone in what they know as terrarium construction. It is a highly rewarding class for all involved

Please note: This class requires supplies and materials that are occasionally out of supply due to environmental events like heat waves. In the unlikely event that we don't get the material, we'll cancel the class and fully refund you and inform you via email, so please watch your email a few days prior to the class.

• 5.6L cookie jar as the terrarium vessel
• A choice of the following materials to build the stairs within the terrarium: polished black irregular sizes stones, unpolished grey oval irregular size stones, unpolished grey slate stones irregular size and grey aged stones irregular size
• All terrarium materials including variety of pebbles and substrate
• Plants that will be used include: Fittonia, dwarf Syngonium, Peperomia Rosso, Peperomia Verde, Peperomia Watermelon, Peperomia Moonlight, Pilea, Chain of Hearts, Asian Bell Tree, Jewel Orchids, a variety of ferns and others available seasonally.
