The Pencil Case Art Studio

Anne Farrell is a qualified artist and art educator with a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) and a Diploma of Education (Primary Teaching).

I have over 14 years of experience teaching in schools across Perth, working with children aged five to 13 years of age. I have also volunteered as a teacher in remote community schools in India.

For 10 years I ran the popular blog 'Use Your Coloured Pencils', where I shared my art lessons and the results of working with hundreds of students over the years.

The Pencil Case Art Studio offers art classes and workshops for children aged 4 years to 16 years, as well as adult classes for beginners and those willing to "brush up" on their skills. You can also book an arty party for a special occasion!

My intent for each class or workshop is not about templates or students creating one of twenty identical artworks created using step-by-step instruction, but for students to really learn practical, transferrable skills across a range of media, to have fun and feel confident to make mistakes, explore and create artwork they are proud of.

I want all students to be able to apply their knowledge, skills and ideas to other artistic practices and to apply their creativity to all aspects of life.
