The Sourdough Science Academy is the first Sourdough School in Gold Coast and Brisbane. Running Sourdough Workshop with the aim of spreading awareness of Sourdough in the local community helping as many people as possible achieve their desire to bake delicious sourdough bread without the use of expensive equipment. Focusing on the health benefits of sourdough and using Certified Organic Flours and Ancient Grains.

The founder is Roberto Giammellucca Italian Qualified Chef, Baker and Pizza Master.

I received this as a Birthday Present from Family as I’d already started to try and make pizza doughs but not with great success.
Roberto was very informative with the processes of making the Sourdough pizzas. He answered everyone’s questions with great depth and detail.
I enjoyed the class so much that I will be signing up to do his Bread and pasta classes. I really enjoyed how Roberto made the class fun but with great detail.

Roberto delivered a masterclass on sourdough making. His passion for the science in making the dough was comprehensive and provided the what and why for success to bake sourdough.

We recently had an amazing opportunity to learn how to make an authentic sourdough bread for my daughter’s 15th birthday party! Roberto was informative, fun and taught us the science behind good sourdough bread making. My daughter’s 15th was success as her 10 friends enjoyed every steps of bread making. Roberto made it so easy for us too, all we had to prepare was to preheat the oven to max temperature before his arrival, he had brought everything for the class!
You can clearly see why Roberto is passionate about making your sourdough bread at home, he has taught us it is easy fun, and with many health benefits :)

Chef Roberto was really good. He explained everything clearly and enjoyed describing the “science” of Sourdough!
The why’s and the how’s.
Getting that glimpse into the science meant the steps in the recipe made sense.
A wonderful experience, and now the smell of freshly cooked sourdough is filling my kitchen thanks to Chef’s generosity.

Highly recommended! Chef Roberto is very enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and presents a scientific approach in a very simple and fun way, learning all there is to learn about Sourdough and how to make the best loaf!
Everything was provided, we even got to keep items to make our next loafs, as well as taking home two loads ready to bake.
Over 3.5hours, we learnt and prepared our own loaves, before eating bread that was baked as we started. From start to finish, it was a great class, highly recommended And you get your own starter to take home. Very worth the time and money
