My name is Leah. I’m the owner and creator behind This Lush Corner an online fibre store and now a learning space to help you dive into a new craft.
I’m an accredited teacher through the Australian Crochet Guild and bring my lifelong experience in crochet and fibre crafts. I am a lover of not only crochet, but knitting, machine knitting, basket weaving and Pine needle basketry crafts.

I choose slow fashion, mending and repurposing rather than disposal, it’s about quality over quantity. There's something special about the process of creating or repairing something by hand—it's a mindful activity that allows us to slow down and appreciate the craftsmanship involved.
It's a way to preserve traditional crafts and pass on knowledge from one generation to the next.

If you are ready to try your hand at a new skill, then let’s jump in and discover the joy of making together!

I was really keen to do this class and was very pleased with the outcome…
Leah was well prepared provided all materials and gave good instruction.
We did not finish the item in the class however were given details to find material and finishing techniques.
Excellent all round.

Leah our teacher was wonderful. So patient and willing to explain things multiple times if needed. It was such a fun class! And so well prepared! We got an e-book to reference now that we’ve done the class. She provided absolutely everything and wonderful quality products that we got to take home to keep on creating!
Would definitely recommend

Our teacher was great! Talented patient, empowering and inspirational. She was very organised and provided everything we needed, including notes ahead of time which were very useful. Michelago station was the perfect venue as it was very serene and ‘olde world’, ideal for handcrafting our little pine needla baskets using all things from nature. I can’t believe how quickly the time passed, it was so therapeutic

Great workshop. Leah provided very clear instructions/demo and the size of the class meant that she was always available to help if needed. Venue was easy to find, accessible by public transport but also had plenty of parking available. Would recommend!

Leah was a wonderful teacher and the small class size meant that she was able to guide everyone at once and also provide individual instruction. I’ve taken away a new skill and the foundations of a beautiful woven piece. Very excited to keep working on it in my own time.

This was such a fun workshop! Leah is a fantastic teacher - she was so friendly, helpful and patient! We left this workshop feeling inspired and excited to have started learning a new craft. The heritage train station was a charming venue as well.

Leah was a great, knowledgeable and flexible teacher able to work with the group and still give us lots of individual attention. Learned the basics … think there is scope for a second course to finish this first basket and explore different techniques. Notes for course were great - detailed and useful.

Leah is a fantastic and patient teacher, the space was set up beautifully with plentiful supplies. Her instruction manuals are so detailed and had great step-by-step photos as we worked through the process.
Delighted with my pine needle basket, I have no weaving or basketry experience and Leah made it comfortable, accessible and achievable. Thank you!

This was a great class, all the materials were supplied, lots of information and guidance. The additional information booklet supplied will allow me to continue with this craft. The teacher was extremely helpful and patient. The time went very quickly but was enough as the fingers get a little tired. Highly recommend it if you want to give something different a try

What a great course. Leah is a natural teacher and the materials and venue were great. She explained about different types of pine needles and places we could forage for them. And we learnt about the different threads we could work with. She also has a fibre store, This Lush Corner, where you can even buy banana silk!
A great way to spend 4 hours on a weekend. I learnt a lot and have a great little basket, with a story, for my home.
