2 hours Location Bayswater Class size 1 to 6 guests   $150 (Afterpay available)

If you are looking for unique things to do in Perth and are interested in learning to weld, then join Skilled Welding in Bayswater for this beginner workshop!
In this welding class, we will be using a sophisticated beginners welding machine called a TIG (tungsten inert gas) welder. This machine works using long rods which are slowly fed through a weld puddle.
Throughout this session, we will be working with a user-friendly steel alloy known as mild steel. This material creates finished pieces that are clean and precise.
At the end of the class, you will return home with foundational welding skills that you can use to continue your journey with this fun and hands-on activity.

I came in with questions about certain materials and thickness which were answered and had more than enough time to practice on the material and thicknesses I was asking about which has left me with ideas to be able to take home and try out.

  • 5/5 from Jesse Searls, attended Jul 2024: A relaxed and very enjoyable introduction to TIG welding. This class will save you money, because what you learn and observe will help you make wiser decisions about what you buy or do. All the information provided was clear and simple, and not over blown with tech jargon. You learn what's in a TIG set up, how to set things up, and how to draw a TIG bead. I think I was welding steel in under 20 minutes. Then we did Aluminium, and we welded that too. All up, I reckon I got close to 40 minutes of TIG time. Of course I didn't master it in that time, but I got going, and found I enjoy the process, so I'm likely to continue doing it. I now know more about what to buy and not buy. I learned about the consumables needed too. All, with no "promotion" etc. Thanks very much, and I'll probably be back to try and learn some more.
  • 5/5 from Bevan Douglas Marshall, attended Jul 2024: Scott was softly spoken but with authority of his knowledge of the art of fusing metals together. He explained the intricacies of both TIG & MIG welding practices and left the choice of welding to each and every one of us. The time simply flashed by and all though there were obvious low points in our experience level, the excitement of participating was infectious. I for one, cannot wait to get back to furthering my practice to develop my skills at this practical art form. The flow of the molten metal is indeed an art form and I welcome further instruction. Kindest regards to you all at ClassBento Bevan D Marshall
  • 5/5 from Simon Nguyen, attended Jun 2024: well worth the money and time, welding can be very intimidating, Jason the instructor made it very approachable. The information provided was appropriate to beginners and we got a lot of hands on time practicing where Jason was able to provide feedback on how we were doing. would have been great if i could have snuck in some mig welding too. If there was a 2 in 1 class option i definitely would have jumped at that option
