Body-Positive Pottery Class: Sculpt Your Own Mug

Let’s sculpt our perfectly imperfect human bodies—and sip tea from them!

2.5 hours

Class size 1 to 14 (public classes), 3 to 25

  $84 - $119 ($119 per guest when you book for 1 guest, $109/guest for 2+ guests, $99/guest for 6+ guests, $89/guest for 10+ guests, $84/guest for 20+ guests) (PayPal Pay in 4 available)

Join figurative sculptor and potter Irina for a body-positive pottery class that truly brings the best of both worlds – sculptural creativity and everyday function.
In this playful, hands-on workshop, you will hand-build a mug from a clay slab (no wheels, no experience needed) and shape it into any part of the human body you fancy.
  • You’re free to sculpt any part of the body you like, from hands and feet to elbows, ears, or the whole figure. We’ll embrace the comical, the imperfect, and the wonderfully human!
  • We’ll go beyond the predictable "boobs and bums" to celebrate every shape, quirk, and curve, with plenty of room for humour.
  • You’ll also have the option to add a pop of funky colour to fresh clay details before it’s fired, making your piece truly one-of-a-kind.
  • Irina will guide you step-by-step so you leave with a functional, fabulous mug that’s as unique as the body it’s inspired by.
Please Note:
All ceramic pieces must be fired in a kiln. Glazing happens after the first firing and requires a second firing. This is the same process used for all our tableware, ensuring your finished mug will be dishwasher, oven, and microwave safe. You can leave your piece with Irina for firing (for a small additional fee) or receive instructions on where and how to have it fired yourself. The process includes drying time, bisque firing, and glaze firing, so please allow for some patience – completion can take over a month.

Hi, I'm Irina.
I like to introduce myself as a sculptor, although I'm engaged in different art disciplines too. I have never had another profession, nor have I wanted one. I fell in love with three-dimensional art at a very early age which came to me naturally, as I was born in a family of artists. It was the world I've grown up in, a measure of value around me.
I have graduated from Fine Arts, majoring in Sculpture, and with a bit of luck, I had a chance to work internationally and gain great experience in different industries and media. Cooperating with professionals from other creative fields has perfectioned my skills and broadened the views of my artistic expression.
I have tried to gather all the projects I am engaged in on this website, showcase it, sell and teach my art. Always open for the new projects with fellow creatives, just get in touch.
