What you'll do
Looking for fun things to do in Sassafras? Create your own dried flower glass dome!
In this short session, you will hand-select your own colour theme of dried botanica from the incredible flower bar.
Visual makeup artist and photographer, Debra will guide you with some colour theory and demonstrate how to fix and install flowers and foliage into your very own glass dome to take home.
This class is suitable for all ages over 16. It's an easy one to do with friends, and you will complete a unique botanical dome for yourself or as a gift.
This workshop uses the small glass dome. There are two size options available:
- Small: $65
- Large: $85
If you wish to go larger, it will be charged extra to upgrade on the day.
Knowledge required
Basic knowledge of how to use secateurs and a glue gun.
What you'll get
A small glass dome and your floral arrangement inside to take home.
What to bring
- Everything is provided. No need to bring anything.

From CBD catch the Belgrave train to Upper Ferntree Gully Station, then Bus 688 will take you up the mountain to Sassafras. The bustop is at front of gallery entrance. If driving follow Mount Dandenong Tourist rd from Burwood Highway. When you get to Sassafras village turn left into Prince street to access gallery carpark - turn right inside cyclone fence -you can park free during class.

Located in Sassafras in the heart of the Dandenong Ranges, our artist run gallery features rotating exhibitions, giftshop and workshop space.
We have a large community of talented painters, potters, sculptors, jewellers and printmakers who deliver fine art based workshops for up to 8 students, just steps away to the forest and sassafras village shops. Onsite carparking and bus stop at front gate allows easy access including flat ground for disability access.
