5.5 hours Class size 1 to 8 guests

$295 (Afterpay & PayPal Pay in 4 available)

We'll start the day at 10am with morning tea and an introduction in the farmhouse. Then we'll go for a relaxed farm walk to visit the goats, see the gardens and say hi to the cows, chickens, pigs, turkeys and bees before we go into the farm commercial kitchen to make sourdough.
In a very small hands-on class (eight people maximum), we'll be learning:
  • All about sourdough starters
  • How to make reliably awesome sourdough bread
  • How to make incredibly good crackers from discarded sourdough starter
  • How to make delicious sourdough fruit and spice loaf
You'll take home a loaf of fresh-baked sourdough, a new banneton (bread rising basket), a bag of sourdough crackers, a wedge of fruit and spice sourdough and a jar of our 14-year-old sourdough starter.
Note: We use 100% organic flour in the class and in the bread you take home.
Cancellations:
Bookings are non-refundable, but if you can give us 10 days' notice, we are super happy to move you to another date. If you need to cancel at the last minute, please send someone else in your place.
About The Farm:

Buena Vista is a family-owned and -run enterprise, with continual family ownership dating back to the 1850s. The farm is currently run by Fiona and Adam Walmsley, with Fiona’s mum also still living on the farm. We began running cooking workshops in 2013, based around our passion for from-scratch food and wholefood cooking. We specialise in small hands-on masterclasses in old skills like sourdough breadmaking, cheesemaking and fermenting.
