Learn how to paint a beautiful planter pot using alcohol inks in Port Noarlunga

75 mins Location Port Noarlunga Class size 6 to 15 guests   $85

Searching for fun and relaxing Adelaide activities? Discover the wonders of alcohol inks and create a pair of stunning pots — painted by you!
In this beginner-friendly workshop with a new format, Katy from Katy J Designs will show you how to paint your own set of stunning alcohol ink pots. You will create two of your very own pots to take home and show off!
Alcohol inks not only look amazing, but they are fun to use. In our new format workshop you will create pots bigger than those shown in the gallery! Pot sizes are approximately 13cm diameter to hold 10cm diameter pots.
At the end of this 85 minute class, take home your gorgeous pots, ready to house your favourite plant babies and the confidence to continue experimenting with mesmerising alcohol inks!
We recommend that you varnish your pots with a sealer after 24 hours of the ink curing (not included). Optional varnish can be purchased on the day should you wish, and Katy will talk you through the process and options available.
Please note that blank pots may vary in style.

  • 5/5 from Kylie Grant, attended Oct 2024: Katy at Pt Noarlunga was a fabulous teacher for our alcohol ink pot painting workshop this morning. Four of us attended with vouchers we gave each other for birthdays/Mothers Day this year (my mum, sister, sister-in-law and me). We loved that it was a simple yet mindful process which was impossible to get 'wrong'. And we loved that, having started with the exact same instructions and supplies, we all got such different results rather than carbon copies.
  • 5/5 from Sharon Thompson, attended Oct 2024: I received a gift voucher for my birthday (great present idea!). Botanista is a lovely little shop in Port Noarlunga (also great cafes nearby to have a bite after the workshop). Katy was so lovely and really explained the process well. I loved my finished pots. It was a really lovely experience.

  • 5/5 from Wendy Dimonte, attended Jul 2024: My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our alcohol ink pot class with Katy. We were using a voucher which my son had given me for my birthday. Katy explained things well and was very encouraging of all our efforts. It was lots of fun and we had a giggle with new friends who shared our table. I'm really pleased with my pots and I look forward to putting plants/flowers in them. What I loved most was seeing how different every single pot turned out, each of them having their own unique charm!
  • 5/5 from Kymberley Kruger, attended Jul 2024: A friend and I did this class as a fun way to catch up - we loved it! The teacher was engaging and explained the process in a simple, easy to understand way which meant the whole class had great success and everyone’s pots looked amazing! We found the process really good for switching off - almost like it calmed our busy brains. Lots of fun and out pots will proudly be displayed (not craft wrecks to be hidden away at all). Would be a great class for a group of friends, or a hen’s party, etc.
  • 5/5 from Robyn Moss, attended Mar 2024: I purchased this experience for myself and 3 friends. Katy was fabulous, she explained and demonstrated how to use alcohol ink very simply. Everything was included for us to make our gorgeous original creations.

  • 4/5 from Loraine Summers, attended Apr 2023: Katy was really lovely, very relaxed and the class was great. Really enjoyed the pots we made although a little disappointed that the stands shown in the photo were not included in the price.
  • 3/5 from Amara Campbell, attended Apr 2023: I received the voucher for the alcohol ink pot workshop as a gift and I was very excited about the experience. I really enjoyed the class and Katy was lovely. However when I got home with my pots I found that the cardboard box I was given for transport had scratched off areas of the paint from my pots. I then waited over 48 hours before I vanished my pots. I followed all the provided instructions but when I sprayed my pots with the vanish it caused the paint to drip and run which completely changed and smudged the alcohol ink patterns I had created. I found this really disappointing that the end product didn’t turn out as I really wanted to love this experience.
  • 5/5 from Jenny Wuttke, attended Mar 2023: Katy was a great teacher very encouraging positive relaxing and approachable. The materials provided were good so we were all working on the same project. Botanical was a great venue very welcoming and inspiring I really enjoyed learning the alcohol ink process and am proud to bring home a finished product that looks professional. The class size was perfect as Katy could keep her eye on everyone offering assistance before we asked for it. Loved it so much would like to have stayed for the alcohol ink botanic painting Jenny Wuttke

There were enough materials available to suit everyone's choices, and plenty of time to complete our 2 pots. The class size was comfortable in the space provided & the refreshments offered were very welcome. I would definitely recommend this class to family and friends.
  • 5/5 from Georgia Braddon, attended Feb 2023: The teacher was really lovely and helpful. I appreciated the small group size as we could all ask questions when needed. The cup of tea was also a nice touch.

  • 5/5 from Claire Stokes, attended Jan 2023: even though it was a quick class, it was still enjoyable & I learnt a new skill. Was a little disappointed in the size of the pots as the add lead me to believe that there would be one small pot & one big pot but all good.
  • 5/5 from Jill Eldridge, attended Jan 2023: Teacher was very helpful and encouraging. Everything set up well. Lots of help if needed. Felt a bit rushed/ would have liked another 15-20 minutes. Overall a great class

  • 5/5 from Naomi Mann, attended Oct 2022: Katie was friendly and knowledgeable. She demonstrated the process and encouraged everyone to not take themselves too seriously. Each person was provided with a hanging pot and regular pot - I would have preferred to have the option to choose 2 of the same as I have nowhere to hang a pot. Overall, class was great value for money and a lot of fun. Thanks Katie!
  • 5/5 from Mandy Williamson, attended Aug 2022: We really enjoyed it. The teacher is so friendly and helpful. Will go back again.
  • 5/5 from Michailey McDonald, attended Jul 2022: My gorgeous daughter booked a class with Katy as part of my birthday gift and we absolutely LOVED the experience. Katy was a very warm and welcoming teacher. Her explanations and demonstrations were simple and easy to understand. For 'non-artistic' people like myself, she was so encouraging and delighted not only in the various colour choices, but in the way the inks moved around the pots making each one unique. Katy was more than happy to answer any questions, offer suggestions if needed and take a beautiful photo or two to celebrate the end product. I would highly recommend this activity.
  • 5/5 from Liz Hallam, attended Jul 2022: Loved learning this new skill. Instructor was lovely and explained the process really well. It is quite an easy technique so anyone can have a go. My daughter and I were really happy with our end products.
