Textile Classes on the Gold Coast

Learning how to sew can be a little bit daunting if you’re completely unfamiliar with it. Sewing and embroidery classes, however, don’t just expand your creativity, but also teach you an incredibly practical skill that can save you money over time. Instead of throwing away old items of clothing, workshops such as a sashiko mending class can teach you how to give old and used garments a new lease on life! Learning how to do macrame can help you not just decorate your home, but build a new home for your favourite pot plants.

Glassblowing and mosaic classes on the Gold Coast

Learning how to blow glass feels somewhat magical. A time-honoured tradition, glassblowing is one of the oldest forms of art available, and one of the most unique experiences the Gold Coast has to offer. Manipulating materials at temperatures of 4000 degrees may make you a touch apprehensive, but you shouldn’t be. Glassblowing and mosaic classes are an excellent way to take your crafting to the extreme. Working with heavy-duty equipment and ridiculous temperatures to build delicate and intricate works of art is an incredibly rewarding experience.

Wearing something you’ve made can be an incredible confidence booster. Stepping outside the world of mass-produced jewellery offers you the opportunity to inject a truly unique flair to your style and reduce your consumption footprint. Not only do our Gold Coast workshops give you the tools to craft handmade jewellery from scratch, but will show you how to form your own creative characteristics and trends through the techniques they’ll pass on to you.

Paper craft and ink classes on the Gold Coast

As life gets faster, it’s never been more important to take some time to disconnect and focus on you. Learning how to do origami or brush lettering is one of the most relaxing things to do on the Gold Coast, and promotes good mental health through mindful movement meditation. If you’re hunting for craft classes that really tap into your imagination, learning decoupage and collage art is a colourful method of building unique imagery and decorating.

Health benefits of craft classes

Learning a new craft is a fantastic opportunity to socialise, meet new people with similar interests and engage with the local community through the arts. Being part of a community increases your production of serotonin and can lower the physical responses to stress, such as high blood pressure.
