Looking for relaxing workshops on the Mornington Peninsula? Why not learn the calming practice of Japanese flower arranging at this beginner-friendly Ikebana course and create your very own minimalist flower arrangement from scratch!

Throughout this three-part course, held over three weeks, you will learn the mindful elements of this Japanese tradition, see some demonstrations and be given guidance as you work through your own arrangements. During each session, your registered Sogetsu Ikebana teacher will guide you through the creation of one or more stunning Japanese style flower arrangements.

Immerse yourself in the meditative experience of arranging flowers, branches, foliage and stems for maximum impact.

You'll finish each session with a sense of calm, a host of new skills to use in future projects and a beautiful Ikebana Japanese flower arrangement to display with pride.

This class series runs over 3 consecutive sessions, at the same time every week.

Suitable for

This class is great for individuals and couples as well as for a birthday or hens party.

Suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 7 years old). An adult must accompany any attending kids. The adult may observe at the class for free.

Eclipse Ikebana offers relaxing, fun and creative workshops while teaching you about the beautiful art of Japanese flower arranging.

Practising Ikebana under her official Japanese teaching name, Shoto, Aileen is a qualified Sogetsu Ikebana teacher with a background in teaching art and information technologies.

At the 2019 Wa Melbourne International Ikebana Festival, she was awarded Silver for exhibitors with up to 5 years teaching experience. In 2018, she won the international online Ikebana Gallery Award in both Overall and People's Choice categories. In 2016, her essay 'Ikebana: Respecting the Past, Expressing the Future' was published in the International Journal of Ikebana Studies.
