Join me in my garage workshop in Erko to learn the basics of silversmithing and stamping to create your own personalised initial ring, ready to wear out of the studio or gift to a friend.
This workshop is hands-on and FUN! Everyone will leave feeling creative and with a sense of achievement with basic skills of jewellery making and stamping skills under your belt ready to take on another workshop or just show off your ring to friends!
Highlights of the workshop:
- Everyone will leave with 1 initial ring, all made in Sterling Silver.
- Fun and hands-on – each maker will have their own workspace and tools to use.
- Learn lots of real jewellery making techniques – including shaping, filing, sanding, texturing, stamping, annealing, and polishing!
- Work with sterling silver and learn all about it.
- Materials are all provided with no extra costs.
- Small class with a maximum of five students.
- You will receive a bag to keep your new jewels safe, a polishing cloth, and care card to keep your items sparkling!
- Our studio is “eco” – no harsh chemicals or toxic solutions are used in the production of the jewellery.
- The perfect morning out for friends with plenty of cafes nearby to head to after whilst wearing your new silver rings.
Knowledge required
Open to all experience levels, especially designed for beginners. Over 16's only, we are happy to accommodate under 16's in private sessions. Private sessions are available for a minimum of 3 guests.
What you'll get
We will provide all the materials at no additional cost. At the end, you will have 1 ring to gift or to wear home!
What to bring
As you will be working with tools, please bring comfortable clothing as well as clothing you won't mind getting dirty. If you need to wear glasses to see or read, these are a must. Hair must be tied back for safety and safety goggles/equipment worn/used as directed. Please wear closed shoes for safety.

Our garage workshop in Erskineville caters for small classes of 1-5 students at a time, each with their own bench space. All the workshops are taught by Lauren in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Lauren is a fully trained Silver Smith with over 15 years experience in jewellery design and making.
Let your imagination and creativity guide you while you hammer, bend, saw, sand, file, texture and polish your very own pieces of jewellery. All our workshops are for beginners or anyone with prior experience. Everyone will leave with a sense of achievement and their newly learnt skills of silversmith jewellery making.
