Bake Christmas classics with the kids
Cake, cookies and gingerbread are classic Christmas staples in Australia. And learning how to make them is a right of passage for any kid, big or small. Fortunately, there’s a buffet of Perth Christmas events to get their tummies rumbling. (And yours.)
Get your little tykes into the kitchen with this Kids’ Christmas baking workshop, courtesy of The Cooking Professor in Mount Hawthorn. Under the guidance of an experienced chef (and child-wrangler) your little ones will learn how to make, bake, ice and decorate a variety of cute Christmas cookies. To fuel their culinary creativity, they’ll each enjoy a smoothie and some pancakes with fruit – all the energy they need to whip up a collection of sweet treats.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Christmas activity without the addition of marshmallow snowmen and reindeer, which also feature on the menu. This class is perfect for kids aged 6-12 and – good news – adult accompaniment isn’t required. Go on, make yourself a Christmas cocktail and enjoy a couple of hours of kid-free bliss! (You’re welcome.)
Know a mini masterchef who loves to bake? Take them along to this Christmas cupcake decorating class in jolly Joondalup. Suitable for kids and adults, this family-friendly activity will leave you feeling merry, bright and full of buttercream. Over 75 minutes, you’ll decorate four cupcakes with guidance from expert baker, Kelly. Get creative with coloured fondant and icing and learn how to bring your designs to life – be it a Christmas tree, snowman or sparkly star.
Looking for Christmas activities that big kids can enjoy? Try this gingerbread-making workshop. At only $39 per participant, it’s a budget-friendly option for your end-of-year work Christmas party in Perth. Get the team together and learn how to assemble an adorable Gingerbread house in less than an hour. Personalise your creation using candy, spices and icing and make something truly magical. For teams that want to go the extra mile, a Christmas-themed tea setup is available for an additional charge. Cute!
