I'm an Italian chef who has spent the past 11 years honing my craft in Michelin-starred and hatted restaurants across Europe and Australia.

Now I am taking my skills directly to you, with unique cooking classes that focus on good food and great company.

My classes focus on a range of cuisines, teaching you everything you need to know to prepare restaurant-quality meals for your loved ones.

A true Italian experience. We were welcomed into Matas home to an amazing set-up and wonderful company. The class was hands-on and Mata was a great instructor. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and there was plenty of delicious food and company.

Matildae was an outstanding teacher, she was extremely personable and had a lot of fun stories which really helped make the whole experience memorable and bespoke.

The venue was beautiful and the smaller class sizes made me feel like I was learning a lot and getting more focused instructions and attention.

I absolutely loved this class, would definitely do it again.

We had a full class today with two parties of English expats who agreed that the Melbourne winter was not cold at all to my wonder and amazement. Anyways Matilde kindly changed the menu on this occasion because I had already attended another class with the same original menu. We had the hickory smoked salmon crostini, pork tonnado, handmade from scratch spinach and ricotta ravioli and a beautiful vanilla panna cotta with blueberry coulis. Oh my goodness everything hit the spot. I left feeling full and satisfied. Thanks to Matilde and Rosie for another fab way to spend the weekend.

The experience with Matilda and Rosie was so incredibly fun! We also learnt so much about food in Tuscany and the food you make and eat on the day is just *chefs kiss*

It felt like a mini trip to Italy with the most fun people and am just still raving about the experience to all our friends and family.

Mathilde and Rosie were so lovely and hospitable. There were three of us in today’s small and intimate Tuscan cooking class. The menu was very healthy and homely, flavours that you don’t usually get at a restaurant. They were all dishes Mathilde grew up with having grown up in Tuscany and worked in elite dining venues all her life. We were fed and watered well and thoroughly enjoyed the day. Thank you!

A wonderful day spent learning new skills and tips around Italian cuisine. Mata was so careful to explain every detail and ensure we were confident in that knowledge.
The cosy house made us all feel at home and there was always ample opportunity to be included in the different elements of the dish.
The pace was easy to keep up with and we stopped and different points to rest or have some wine.
The 3-course meal was divine and really topped off the day.

This was my first time doing a Class Bento experience, and it was such a great one.

Matilde and Rosie were really welcoming and friendly, the class was relaxed and easy to follow, surrounded by lovely people as well.

Matilde was very insightful by providing both technique and enjoyable stories to go along with the delicious food.

All the food and recipes were absolutely delicious and ones that I will definitely recreate at home.

I highly recommend this class for people to go deeper into hyper regional Italian cuisine, Matilde is a well of knowledge and is very keen to share it with everyone so there’s heaps of other topics that spark during the class.

I recently had the pleasure of attending a vegetarian cooking class with Matacooks, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked into her home that was warm and inviting, I knew I was in for something special.
 
The instructor, Matilde, is a true culinary artist and a passionate advocate for vegetarian cuisine. Her expertise and enthusiasm shone through as she guided us through the class with warmth and patience. Matilde extensive knowledge and experience of working in worldclass kitchens shone through in how she combined vegetarian ingredients, techniques, and flavor combinations. It was truly impressive, and she effortlessly shared her wisdom with the class.
 
What impressed me the most about the class was the emphasis on using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Mata's commitment to sustainability and zero waste approach was inspiring - she uses pumpkin scraps to make vinegar that is so tasty!
 
The recipes we prepared were a perfect balance of creativity and simplicity. Matilde expertly taught us how to create mouthwatering vegetarian dishes that were bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. From vibrant salads to hearty main courses, each recipe showcased the versatility and richness of vegetarian cuisine.
 
Moreover, the social and hands-on nature of the class made it all the more enjoyable. We had the opportunity to actively participate in each step of the cooking process, from chopping vegetables to sautéing and seasoning. Mata provided helpful tips and tricks along the way, ensuring that even novice cooks like myself felt confident in the kitchen.
 
I would highly recommend Matilde's cooking classes to anyone, regardless of their cooking experience or dietary preferences.

Matilde and Rosie welcomed us into their home and showed us their thriving veggie garden which I enjoyed a lot especially for an aspiring green thumb like me. There was kale, lovage, radishes, basil, oregano etc etc even a yuzu tree. We made crostinis with roasted capsicums, frittata with sage, shallots and roasted pumpkin, leek and mushroom lasagna with pasta sheets made from scratch! We were also served homemade arancini, dessert and a beautiful seasonal salad with goat cheese, radicchio leaves and witlof which I never tried before. Thoroughly enjoyable with a good drop of red or white wine. We all left with happy full bellies, recipe cards and also very impressed with the class.

I loved this class! Matilde is a professional chef but she thought us in a very simple and friendly way, so I will able to replicate all the dishes we made in the class! The food was to die for…Creamiest cacio and Pepe Pici plus tiramisù ever. We made everything from scratch and she shared with us all her tips and secrets. At the end of the class we sat down to enjoy all the food we prepared paired with some fine Italian wines. We made a good amount of food and we also got some to take home! This class has a great value and I can’t wait to attend her pizza and vegetarian class.
