Salt Spa Cold Process Soap Making Workshop

In this specialty workshop, you’ll learn to make cold process soap using fine salt and nourishing oils to create a bar that’s creamy, hard, and subtly exfoliating—ideal for hands, feet, or anyone who loves a fresh, spa-like cleanse. You’ll fragrance your soap with an uplifting blend of mandarin, lime, lavender, myrrh, and rose—designed to relax the body and calm the mind.Unlike regular salt scrubs, salt bars (also called soleseife or spa bars) are full of skin-loving oils that leave your skin feeling soft and replenished, never dry. The result is a beautifully balanced bar with a smooth finish, a dense lather, and a satisfying feel in the hand.Whether you’re new to soap making or ready to expand your skills beyond our Signature Luxury Soap Workshop, this is a wonderful chance to explore a fresh recipe and experience the magic of mineral-enriched soap.This workshop is part of our rotating Specialty Soap Series, offered once a month with a different focus each time. Salt Spa Soap is available once per quarter, or by request for private groups of 6 or more.What you will make:You’ll make a full loaf of Salt Spa Soap, which cuts into 8 to 10 luxury bars.You’ll have the option to:

• Blend a light essential oil fragrance for a calming, spa-like aroma
• Add a natural coloured clay to tint your loaf with soft, earthy tones
• Or keep your bars unscented and uncoloured to enjoy the clean, minimalist finish

What you will learn:

• How to make cold process soap enriched with salt
• The benefits of salt bars and how they differ from regular soap
• How to adjust your recipe for hardness, lather, and texture
• Techniques for a smooth pour and clean cut despite the fast trace of salt soap
• How to lightly scent your bars with essential oils (optional)

Availability:

• Our Specialty Soap Workshops run every month, with a different recipe featured each time.
• Salt Spa Soap is available once per quarter, or can be booked as a private group class (6+ people).

Please bring a towel and a bag* to keep your soap warm on its way home.*The ideal bag is a supermarket-style reusable bag with a rectangular base (not a soft plastic bag).Returning Makers – Bring Back Your Mould:

• All participants receive a reusable silicone mould, which is yours to keep and reuse.
• If you’re returning for another soap workshop, you’re welcome to bring your mould back and book using our Refill Class option - a discounted ticket available to repeat attendees. It’s a small way to reduce waste and encourage continued making.

Whether you come on your own, with a partner, or with a support person, you’ll be welcomed into an inclusive, inspiring space—and leave with something you’re proud to have made.Please note: Salt soap sets much faster than standard cold process recipes, so your loaf will need to be unmoulded and cut within 2 to 4 hours of the workshop.You’re welcome to:

• Take your soap home right away if you’re confident you can cut it later that day
• Or leave your mould with us, enjoy a lunch break nearby, and return later that afternoon to cut your bars in our space

Just be sure to bring a flat-bottomed paper bag or box to carry your soap home safely. Your bars will need to be laid flat and left to cure for 3 to 4 weeks before use.
