It requires a little more dexterity and patience than the more basic bookbinding classes, but is well worth it for those who want to increase their skills in this niche artform. Teacher is very helpful and enthusiastic and offers good stockist tips; it's fairly fast-paced and you'll go home with a beautiful journal. Would have liked a cup of tea midway through to break up the intensity. An affordable class, as is usual for Work-shop.

I really enjoyed learning to make something unusual and was happy to find that the garden was easy (and fun) to make and low maintenance to look after. Really appreciated the effort by the teacher to incorporate genuine Japanese materials. Recommended.

This was a really fun and different workshop learning something I hadn't heard of before that produces an interesting visual and tactile effect. Once you get the hang of it you will really enjoy it. Teachers were very patient and friendly.

If you are going to learn to weave, do yourself a favour and pop in to Skye's cosy studio for a class. You will leave with a cute first project and she explains everything as you go. No prior knowledge necessary. Good quality materials also.
