I attended the 3 week Beginners sewing class at SewMakeCreate at Chippendale run by Melissa.

My teacher was Tanja & i cannot speak highly enough of her talent, her teaching style and her patience. There were issues with my commercially bought sewing pattern and as a beginner, i was confused, anxious & full of self-doubt. I was so ready to give up & concead defeat but Tanja & Melissa were so incredibly masterful & professional in totally redesigning the pattern to make it work. The end result was i have sewn my very first garment and i love it.

The venue at Chippendale is perfect. Its home-y and comfortable & the adjacent courtyard provides a lovely green aspect & natural light.

With every class, i learnt more & more techniques using the sewing machine & overlocker. Tanja's extensive knowledge, experience & ability to troubleshoot meant she easily identified & fixed all my mistakes, all the while teaching me tips & tricks.

I love that you were able to choose what article of clothing you wanted to make over the 3 saturdays. It meant that one student made a pair of tailored trousers, another a pleated skirt & i made a long gathered skirt.

These sewing classes are very good value for money and i highly recommend them. Thanks so much to ClassBento & SewMakeCreate

I cannot express in words how thankful i am to our teacher Tanya for her knowledge & patience with me at the Beginners Sewing Class. On arrival i was nervous, anxious & uncertain as to whether a 55 yr old could be taught a new skill. With Tanya's reassurance, guidance & encouragement, i learnt how to sew & for that, i am incredibly thankful. I look forward to attending more classes to broaden my knowledge & confidence.
