What to expect at Perth textiles classes
Join a textiles class in Perth and expect to explore, experiment, and have fun with some yarn, needle and thread! From the moment you arrive, your friendly teacher will guide you through the tools and techniques needed for your chosen craft. Whether it’s sewing, embroidery, crocheting or felting, each class is hands-on and designed to be easy to follow. You’ll receive step-by-step instructions, helpful tips, and plenty of encouragement along the way.
Our textile design classes are often held in cosy studios or creative community spaces across Perth, from crocheting teacher Helen Gibson in South Guildford to Tufting Club in Kewdale. Many sessions are small and intimate, giving you the perfect setting to unwind and enjoy some time away from the hustle and bustle, and connect with other crafty folks.
Plus, you’ll have access to all the materials you need, so just bring yourself and a willingness to try something new! By the end of the class, you’ll walk away with a beautiful handmade piece—like a macrame plant hanger, a hand-dyed scarf, or an embroidered hoop—that you can proudly say you made yourself.
Textile art classes are perfect for groups and special occasions
Planning a special occasion? Textile art classes are the perfect way to bring people together for a creative, feel-good experience! Looking for unique hens party ideas? Choose from activities like macrame, embroidery or crocheting and relax and unwind! You and your guests can get creative and enjoy each other’s company in a cosy and intimate space. Textile classes also make for thoughtful and mindful team building events. As your group learns to stitch, knot, or dye together, they’ll strengthen communication, boost creativity, and enjoy a refreshing break from the everyday work routine.
Feel-good fibre arts for mindfulness
There’s something truly special about textile arts when it comes to mindfulness. The gentle, repetitive motions of stitching, knotting, or weaving have a calming rhythm that invites you to slow down, breathe, and be fully present in the moment. Whether you’re knitting a cosy scarf, trying your hand at macrame, or creating patterns with embroidery, fibre arts are one of the best things to do in Perth to switch off from the noise of daily life and focus on something peaceful and creative.
