Sew Your Own Santa Sack Workshop

A perfect class for complete beginners who want to walk away with an heirloom quality product

3 hours Class size 3 to 4 guests

$135 ($150 per guest when you book for 3+ guests, $135/guest for 3+ guests) (PayPal Pay in 4 available)

A relaxed, beginner-friendly class for anyone wanting to create something special this Christmas.
Come join me for a few hours of slow stitching, laughter, and festive making.
In this 3-hour workshop, you’ll sew your very own beautiful, fully-lined Santa sack, made from 100% cotton and finished with a luxe satin ribbon double drawstring. When you arrive, the fabric will be precut for you so we are ready to jump straight into the good stuff!
Everything is provided on the day (including sewing machines) so all you need to bring is yourself.
Whether you’ve never touched a sewing machine before or you’re already a confident sewer looking for a fun project and good company, this class is for you. Think “paint and sip” vibes but with fabric and thread. What I love most about running this workshop is seeing that spark of pride when people realise, “I actually made this with my own two hands!” It’s such a lovely mix of community, learning, creativity and I really hope (and believe!) that you'll leave with the confidence to continue sewing at home.
Included is a custom embroidered gift tag with the name of your choice, ready to tie onto your finished Santa sack for that perfect personal touch.
There’s also an optional Fabric Pack Add-On, which includes pre-cut materials and a full video tutorial. Perfect if you’d like to make another Santa sack later or want a reminder of the steps.
Come solo, bring a friend, or make it a festive catch-up, you’ll leave with something truly special
This workshop is supported by Braemar Creative Programs – an initiative by Blue Mountains City Council.

Hi! I'm Caitie.
I started Summed Up Threads with the intention to make and sell embroidered keepsakes and whilst I loved the process of making and selling, I quickly realized that it was missing one key thing that I love - PEOPLE!
I pulled together a group of friends to run a 'trial workshop' and the rest is history! Now I take my machine all over Sydney (and beyond), offering workshops at both venues and inside your home.
I feel so passionately that creating something with your own two hands is so empowering, and the sense of accomplishment you feel when you take a step back and look at your creation is so special.
In my workshops, you’ll learn simple techniques while making something truly personal, from hand-sewn Santa sacks to quilted kindle covers.
My classes are designed to be fun, welcoming, and beginner-friendly, with everything you need provided. Think 'paint and sip' vibes, rather than a super technical sewing class. I hope you'll leave with a newly found confidence, ready to tackle the sewing machine you've had hidden in the back of your wardrobe for years.
I'm based in the lower Blue Mountains (about an hour west of Sydney) but love to travel all over the place, bringing my machines to you. Get in touch if you'd like to enquire about a private class - maybe for book club this month you can get together and make a book sleeve? Maybe you want to get your mothers group together to make something for your baby's first birthday!? I'd love to be a part of it!
