We made suncatchers which we found very relaxing and enjoyed the process. We especially liked the soldering process and the finishing steps to our pieces was very satisfying. We both learned a lot from Hideko's deep knowledge of her craft, and she has so many tips and tricks to share. My partner has experience with soldering for electronics, and being familiar with both processes Hideko was so helpful in pointing out areas where the technique should differ. There was a fantastic range of colours and patterns to choose from, and a lot of examples of shapes to be inspired by. We would highly recommend this class to anyone looking to learn a lot about the process in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Hideko was a gem and a wonderful teacher!

Hideko was warm & welcoming, very knowledgeable about her craft anf a fabulous teacher. The steps were fully explained before we started, directing us to be creative with our design & took great care to ensure we were safely guided though the processes. We were shown & told many tips & tricks of the craft, how we can 'start up' at home easily and were offered ongoing support and advice if we need in the future. We were both so happy with our creations, the guidance given to us made it all feel so easy. I wouldn't hesitate to undertake further learning with Hideko, we would just need to move to Sydney from New Zealand! This was such a highlight of our trip & we have our fabulous suncatchers to treasure forever ️

We did the stained glass suncatcher workshop and had so much fun designing, wrapping, and soldering our pieces. You get to bring home something handmade and unique that you don't immediately want to throw in the bin. She provides snacks, takes photos, and has great banter to keep you entertained throughout. She also has the timing down to a tee! 4.5 hours exactly.

It came as no surprise that Hideko went above and beyond to make sure that everyone enjoyed and completed their suncatcher masterpieces! Showing extreme patience, she managed to make us feel relaxed as we manoeuvred our way through a technique quite new to most of us. Her knowledge on glass cutting was a little extra that she demonstrated. What can I can….. a fabulous day, and a great way to spend a few hours. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

Our teacher was warm, patient and informative and made the whole experience fun. We were shown and practiced new skills including cutting glass and soldering and had our own pieces to take home. This was a great class and experience and would highly recommend it!

Originally I was following a design Hideko had on display, but at the end before I've attached all the bits together, I had another idea. And the teacher was happy and allowed me to change. We've done a bit of scoring (cutting glass) too into a teardrop- first time doing that. Very unique. Love how the whole thing turned out!

The instructor was down‑to‑earth, generous with her knowledge, and clearly passionate about her craft. She guided us through each step with great detail and was incredibly encouraging throughout. The class was all set up when we arrived and the class was personalised and ready to start when we were. The materials that were provided were easily accessible, well in reach and in variety for an expansive choice. The tools we had to use were clearly explained, simple to use for first timers and given to each person to ensure access and ease of class flow. Hideko was extremely clear in explaining each step and sprinkled humour throughout the class. Her calm and patient tone made the class feel comfortable and no mistakes or questions felt too silly. She connected with each of us on a personal note, making a point of learning each persons name and ensuring that they felt comfortable in the space. Overall the class was fantastic, everyone walked away from the session feeling successful and like they had spent 1 hour in a room rather than 5. Very accessible and good for first timers along with someone with some experience aswell. Thankyou Hideko, will definitely look at returning.
