About This Workshop:
Our Luxury Marbled Soap Workshop is part of our rotating Soap Workshop Collection—a curated series of workshops exploring different ingredients, techniques, and styles of cold process soap making.
This workshop focuses on colour, creativity, and the art of swirling handmade soap using natural clays and beautiful essential oil blends. It’s the perfect place to begin your soap-making journey and remains one of our most popular workshops for both beginners and returning makers.
As our specialty soap workshops rotate throughout the year, many guests return to explore new recipes and techniques.
Why Join Our Soap-Making Workshop?

Whether you come on your own, with a partner, or with a support person, you’ll be welcomed into an inclusive, inspiring space—and leave with something you’re proud to have made.
Please note:
Cold process soap making involves working with lye (caustic soda), a strong alkaline substance that requires careful handling and attention. Safety equipment is provided, and we will guide you carefully throughout the workshop.
This workshop is not suitable for children under 16 years of age.
Participants aged 16–17 must attend with a participating adult also booked into the workshop.
Your soap will need to cure for one to three days in the mould that you will take home with you before cutting it into bars and continuing to cure and harden for a further four to six weeks.
What you'll get
  • All materials to make a full loaf of luxury soap
  • A reusable silicone mould (yours to keep)
  • Premium oils, butters, clays, and essential oils

Knowledge required
This workshop is suitable for absolute beginners, with no prior experience necessary. Due to the use of Lye, we do not recommend this class for children under the age of 16 years.
What to bring
You will be taking your soap home with you, it is a good idea to bring a towel to wrap it in and a bag or box to carry it home - you'll need to keep your loaf snug and warm for 24 hours!
Safety note: Lye is an incredibly strong chemical that requires extreme caution. Because of this, we recommend wearing a long-sleeved shirt, pants and enclosed shoes. Please don't worry we will teach you how to handle it safely so you won't have any issues. We recommend wearing long sleeves, pants and enclosed shoes.

Made by Me Workshop is about helping people to connect with their "inner creative" and have some fun while making beautiful things from quality materials in our friendly & vibrant studio space in the heart of the inner west!
Established in 2017 after Rebecca Doyle decided to take a career break and chose to revisit her childhood love for arts & crafts. Rebecca grew up in a large family where money was tight, after school activities where mostly homegrown and usually involved a sheet of cardboard, a glue stick and some glitter! It is probably no surprise to learn that Rebecca followed a creative path to study Fashion & Textile Design at University!
After a few more decades (than Rebecca will publicly admit to) and a long and varied career in the fashion industry, Rebecca wanted to get back to creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind objects - Made By Me Workshop is the result of where this path led.
Rebecca loves that moment of pride that comes over each participant's face when they look at what they have created and say to themselves "Wow - I made this & I love it!"
Made by Me Workshop run a variety of creative workshops, hen’s parties, private parties and corporate events from their warehouse space in St Peters including Resin Art, Resin Jewellery & Mould Making, Soap Making, Terrazzo Homewares, Punch Needle, Macrame and many more.
