Fun Fluid Art classes in Brisbane
Fluid art for beginners
Fluid art - also known as acrylic pouring art - has a young history within the art world. Unlike traditional mediums such as oil and watercolour, fluid art requires no traditional artistic implements. There is no requirement of paintbrushes, painting knives or even an easel! Fluid art focuses on pouring acrylic paints of varying thicknesses over a canvas to create a colourful spill that exudes a bright, abstract beauty. Using tools such as squeeze bottles and plastic cups, acrylic pouring is perfect for beginners due to its easy-to-master tricks and techniques. Resin painting is identical in its methodology, however, epoxy resin and colouring are used in place of thinned acrylics. Resin art and acrylic pouring are very similar, but resin art is visually quite different due to the materials employed.
Although relatively simple in their methodology, fluid art and resin art has incredibly beautiful outcomes and is a wonderful approach to individual creative expression. There are a variety of different styles in the world of acrylic pouring, and all give a slightly different outcome. From the therapeutic “dirty pour” method to the colourful chaos of the “flip cup” technique, our fluid art classes in Brisbane will inspire you to keep painting and pouring long after the class has finished!
If you’re looking for cool things to do in Brisbane, learning how to do fluid art is top of that list! With such a niche skillset, you can be sure to stand out from other artists! Acrylic pouring is a great way to expand your artistic skillset, and resin painting is a great medium if you’re looking to redecorate your home or office with bright and bold colours!

Fluid art is great for your wellbeing
Art therapy has been established as a proven method in rehabilitation with people suffering from both mental and physical impairment. Working with paints has been shown to greatly reduce stress and anxiety, particularly among individuals suffering from depression and PTSD. The dexterity required to create a piece of art has also been proven to help sufferers of arthritis with chronic pain relief, as well as aiding in their social life. Engaging in any artistic pursuit has been found to promote longevity and aid in leading a healthy, balanced lifestyle. Acrylic pouring, in particular, is a practice that has a real focus on mindfulness, promoting a peaceful flow-state for your imagination to run wild in a safe, relaxing environment. Learning a new skill that requires motor skills and problem solving also promotes the growth of white matter in the brain. This opens up new neural pathways and keeps the brain healthy, warding off degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and dementia.
