Alex Potter

Growth Partner

Hey, I’m Alex, one of the Growth Partners here at ClassBento!
Originally from the UK, I made the move to Sydney back in 2018. Since then, I’ve worked across account management and customer success roles in a range of industries, partnering with some of Australia’s biggest brands.
These days, I’m lucky enough to be working somewhere that feels much closer to my heart. ClassBento’s mission of supporting local artists and makers really resonated with me — I love helping teachers grow their businesses and share their creativity with the world.
I’m based in Bondi Junction, so when I’m not working you’ll usually find me jogging around Centennial Park, grabbing a coffee at a local café, or at the beach. If you have any favourite coffee spots or weekend activities, I’m always keen for a recommendation!

I live with my partner and daughter, alongside what feels like half of England living in Sydney! Outside of work, you’ll usually find me running, boxing, playing football, watching football or, most importantly, hanging out with my little toddler pal and getting up to fun adventures together.

About me

  • I’ve worked with some of Australia’s biggest consumer brands and apps, such as triple j’s Hottest 100, Guzman y Gomez, THE ICONIC and more.
  • I firmly believe everyone should make their own chair at least once... which is why woodworking is next on my bucket list!

Top weekend activity

Swimming in the ocean during summer and visiting local breweries in winter.

Craft I'd love to try

I really want to try some woodworking courses. They just seem very fun and satisfying. I’ve seen one where you make your own chair, and who doesn’t want to make their own chair?!

3 top tips to recharge and unwind

  • Get moving. Whether it’s a walk, run or your favourite sport, spending energy helps you recharge.
  • Put your feet up afterwards. Straight after step one, get your feet up! Make yourself a cup of tea and give yourself permission to properly relax.
  • Prioritise sleep. Get those eight hours in. Nothing recharges you more!

3 top tips for embracing creativity

  • Don’t chase perfection. Don’t worry about whatever you create not being perfect, that’s the point! It’s MEANT to be a bit crooked and different, because YOU made it, not a machine!
  • Create with friends. Chuck a class in the group chat and see who wants to go. I think most people are always looking to embrace creativity, they just need a little nudge, so do it together.
  • Or keep it your own little secret. In total contrast to my second tip... keep it secret! Sometimes, telling people you’re going to do something adds a weird, unnecessary pressure, which can make it hard to keep going. So don’t tell anyone. Sign up to the course solo, meet some new people and just BE creative!
