Derived from Japanese, "Amigurumi" translates to "knitted or crocheted stuffed toy." In this workshop, you'll discover the magic behind this intricate craft as you learn essential techniques from reading patterns to mastering the art of the Magic Ring. Dive into the basics of increasing and decreasing stitches, embroider adorable faces, and add whimsical touches like tiny tassels.
While this workshop is perfect for Easter crafting, it's also an ideal starting point for anyone eager to explore Amigurumi. As you crochet your charming bunny companion, you'll gain confidence and skills that extend beyond the Easter season. With each stitch, you'll be one step closer to mastering more complex shapes and patterns, unlocking endless possibilities in the world of Amigurumi.
This class is designed for participants with a basic knowledge of crochet. If you are not confident in your skills, you may want to attend one of Lyndell's Learn to Crochet Classes beforehand; these run in our space on a monthly basis. Participants will need to have 25 grams of 8ply or 10ply yarn, a 3.5mm or 3.75mm crochet hook for 8ply or a 4mm crochet hook for 10ply, and a wool needle. You can add on a crochet kit at the checkout or purchase one on the day; this includes 10ply yarn in your choice of colour, a 4mm Clover crochet hook, and a wool needle for you to keep.
This class is not just about learning new skills; it's about connecting with fellow crafters in our welcoming workshop space. You'll have the opportunity to share your creations, exchange ideas, and make new friends who share your passion for crochet and other crafts. Plus, we'll keep you energised and inspired with a delightful morning or afternoon tea or coffee.
Please note that all bookings for this workshop are final and strictly non-refundable. However, if you're unable to attend on the day, you can send someone in your place. In the unlikely event that we don't reach the minimum number of participants required to run the workshop, we may cancel the class. Participants will need a basic knowledge of crochet. This class is not suitable for absolute beginners. If you are not confident in your skills, you may want to attend one of Lyndell's Learn to Crochet Classes beforehand. These run in our space on a monthly basis.

Led by Lyndell Wright, a professional craftsperson who has never met a yarn she couldn't wrangle into something beautiful, you may recognise some of her beautiful work across various Australian stages and screen. With over five decades of knitting and crocheting experience, Lyndell is the go to maker for all things knit, crochet and more, she will happily provide expert guidance and personalised attention to help you develop your skills.

Established in 2017 after Rebecca Doyle decided to take a career break and chose to revisit her childhood love for arts & crafts. Rebecca grew up in a large family where money was tight, after school activities where mostly homegrown and usually involved a sheet of cardboard, a glue stick and some glitter! It is probably no surprise to learn that Rebecca followed a creative path to study Fashion & Textile Design at University!
After a few more decades (than Rebecca will publicly admit to) and a long and varied career in the fashion industry, Rebecca wanted to get back to creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind objects - Made By Me Workshop is the result of where this path led.
Rebecca loves that moment of pride that comes over each participant's face when they look at what they have created and say to themselves "Wow - I made this & I love it!"
