Brought to you by the Founder of Art Hut in London's Battersea Park.
Do you feel you are not very creative but willing to take some creative steps, in a non-competitive environment? This session offers a novel way to meet new people, tune in to your creativity and/or your innate nature connection, and see what inspiration emerges. You might surprise yourself.
Taking time out, in any format, for creative expression or nature appreciation, can help to alter our pace or provide a fresh perspective.
Past participants have described their experience as freeing, exciting, relaxing, challenging, fun, empowering, and a good creative stretch.
Class outline
Main Session
The first part is a warm-up, involving a number of short tasks to help get you into a creative mode. You will experiment with broad creative expression concepts and broad nature themes. An array of basic arts and crafts materials will provide some inspiration.
Following a short break, the second part is more self-guided and contemplative during which you opt to continue experimenting or to develop at least one concept further. Go at your own pace, or perhaps collaborate if someone has a similar creative interest.
At the conclusion of the main session you can mingle with others to discuss the concepts created, or continue working on your mini creation.
Note: Proof of age will not be checked but kindly only book if you and guest(s) are aged 25 to 35 or will be this year. The workshop is entirely indoors. In keeping with the timeout theme, everyone will be required to switch off telephones. No photos/recording/filming. The session will not be recorded. This is an alcohol-free event.
For Private Groups This experience can be adapted for private professional teams and social groups keen to enjoy some novel timeout together. Minimum of 25 adults, any age. Perhaps at your preferred venue, if suitable. Materials are not provided when held at your venue.
What you'll get
  • Mingle with others of a similar age/interest.
  • For groups at the Ultimo venue, basic mixed materials are included. Basic sketching, collage, sculpture such as clay and reused packaging. Plus a paper scrapbook and one small canvas per person. No digital materials.

Give me a tight brief about your most persistent environmental conundrum, and I’ll give you a creativity workshop to help your internal/external stakeholders have fun while reflecting on the issue from a different perspective.
I love facilitating novel ways for organisations and individuals to seek fresh perspectives. A creative breakthrough is powerful, and creative pursuits can help to spark self-improvement, original ideas, or innovation.
Mostly self-taught, with some formal training as a creativity facilitator in England, since 2012 I have delivered many hundreds of hours of adult creative expression sessions for a range of public and private organisations, festivals, and community groups in London and Sydney.
FOUNDER OF ART HUT IN LONDON'S BATTERSEA PARK
I enjoyed a five year Art Hut collaboration with a therapeutic gardening charity serving the London public. In their delightful English garden, I delivered nature-inspired public exhibitions and creativity workshops for individuals, pairs, and groups.
As an Independent Curator in London, I have produced many public exhibitions showcasing professional and aspiring artists alike. All of my curations have featured collaborative workshops with artists across sculpture, painting, drawing, cartooning, printmaking, dance, and poetry, and partnerships with charities, youth clubs, schools, public gardens, community centres, public venues, residential networks, and festival organisers.
COLLABORATIVE CREATIVE
Delivering creativity workshops is one of a number of ways that I practise and stretch my collaborative approach to my artistic expression and curiosity. I am a Collaborative Creative. I find inspiration through making conceptual art, dancing, observing wildlife and bird song, walking in green and blue spaces, music, singing, theatre, and political and societal observations.
SUSTAINABILILTY PROFESSIONAL
I offer a range of sustainability soft skills across external communications, engagement, and creativity. Since 1998, my sustainability career has focused on environmental and community-based initiatives in Australia and Europe.
