Sink your hands into soft, hand building clay and learn how to make ceramics with Glost Studios in their cosy and leafy studio in Dulwich Hill!

In this beginners class, you'll learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing in a supportive environment. No matter what your skill level is, our pottery classes are aimed to make you feel confident and at ease.

Throughout this hands-on experience, you'll be encouraged to explore and investigate ideas and techniques, in order to make ceramic objects that are wholly unique and special to you, whilst being guided by our expert potter, Ciane.

Looking for relaxed and casual experience gift ideas? These classes will allow that special someone to explore their creativity as they make beautiful homewares and decorations. Or, share the fun of making with clay at a laidback hens party or team building event.

At the end of your class, we will trim, glaze and fire two of your items. If you have more than two items we can also finish them for a small, additional cost.

Glost Studios is a small leafy ceramic studio in Dulwich Hill, run by Ciane Brewster. The studio provides a comfortable and harmonious space for its members to explore their interest in pottery and ceramics. Glost is equipped with top of the line Shimpo Whisper-T pottery wheels and hand building facilities, as well as an electric kiln and an array of glazes.

Outside of being a creative space, Glost offers a small range of hand-built pottery for purchase. Ciane Brewster is a ceramicist and Visual Arts teacher, with an intuitive art making process. Her work draws from both the female form and natural organic contours, employing exaggerated shapes and a muted colour palette. Due to the handmade nature of her work no two pieces are the same, ensuring every ceramic work created is a ‘one of a kind’. Her practice predominantly uses wheel throwing techniques; however, she invites a relationship between the sculpture and its maker, purposefully creating imperfections in her once refined forms.

The class was a great experience. I throughly enjoyed it. The teacher was clear in communicating the lesson and demonstrated the techniques used for pottery. She was attentive and assisted when needed. I eventually got the technique but require more practice. A great class if you’re looking to try pottery. I highly recommend.

A fantastic experience. Facilities are small but intimate which means small class sized and one on one time. Sienna was incredibly knowledgeable and patient. The class was well organised to ensure attendees got the most out of it.
I was apprehensive going alone to a class but Sienna makes you feel comfortable, making for a very enjoyable afternoon. The add ons for extras are also at a very reasonable price.
Will definitely do again!

Lovely class!
The teacher was knowledgeable, patient, and helpful. The materials and equipment were high quality. The class size was also limited to 6ppl which enabled the teacher to provide adequate one-on-one support.
Highly recommend this class as both a creative afternoon and as an instructive beginners lesson.

Lovely, helpful teacher, nice small Covid safe setting. The only thing that would’ve been helpful would be more cleaning up hoses / sinks as it took a while waiting for each other. Loved it and will book again!

Sheran Kumar Oct 2021

I found the class interesting, and the teacher very nice and assertive, but the frustrating part was that I couldn’t make the pots right (not enough time?). I also think I may have fallen asleep in this class in hour 2.
We pay $80 and we have to clean and pack up after ourselves + we get no food all that aside you get only 2 items (that you make) I’m sorry but for someone who has traveled 1hr and 30mins, I’m not super impressed, maybe if the price was cheaper I would recommend it to friends/family.

Overall, if you like all things pottery then this is for you.
