What you'll do
Join the Naga Spirit Dragon Boating Team for a fun time on the water, taking advantage of Sydney's picturesque landscape and beautiful weather!
Naga Spirit is inviting YOU (and your friends) to trial 'dragon boating' and learn how to paddle with one of the longest running dragon boating team in NSW. This includes a personalised lesson to hone your skills.
You will receive:
- Lesson in paddling from one of our experienced coaches (States representatives and/or Australian representatives)
- Paddle and boat hire
- Insurance
- A session of up to two hours on the water
The introductory lesson will teach you the basic techniques of paddling and give you a whole body workout whilst enhancing your fitness.
We cater to all levels of paddling (beginners to experienced) so everyone is welcomed to join in for a day of fun. You don't need to be fit to try out!
You will be provided with an email detailing what you need to bring, wear, expect on your first session on the water.
Bring your friends because the more is always the merrier!

NAGA Spirit was originally formed as the UNSW Malaysian Students' Organisation Dragon Boat Team (MSODB) in 1992. Naga Spirit today is very diverse club catering to all cultures and age groups and prides itself on the strong bond we hold both on and off the water. The club has been in numerous finals at regattas and has produced members who have represented in the NSW state squad as well as the Australian National squad.
Whilst we are greatly focused on achieving personal and team goals of fitness and competition, this is not restricted to dragon boating as we can often be found in surrounding Karaoke bars, trivia nights and skirmish sessions!! We have been paddling for over 20 years on the water and with an ever evolving team our motto: "For Each Other" continues to bind us together with a strong sense of spirit and determination. We are dedicated to providing a fun yet challenging environment where paddlers can come together and be involved in the unique sport of Dragon Boating.
