Isabelle Lhotka

Social Media Manager (Marketing)

I’m based in Sydney and am happiest when I’ve got a new hobby to obsess over or a trip on the horizon. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me playing some kind of sport, picking up a new skill (my latest was woodworking), reading historical fiction or checking out local cafés.

I also have a Border Collie named Koda who’s a very good boy.

I started my marketing career at 18 by reaching out to local businesses and offering to help with their social media. After a few businesses took a chance on me, I spent the next few years learning everything from content creation and paid advertising to email marketing and web design.

About me

  • I’ve lived in some unexpected places while travelling, including a family farm in the Himalayas.
  • I’m always learning something new, from woodworking and creative workshops to future furniture projects.

Top weekend activity

It depends on the week! Sometimes my perfect weekend is taking my dog, Koda, for a long walk, finding a great café and having nowhere in particular to be. Other times, I love catching up with friends over dinner, getting competitive on the soccer field or around a board game, or trying out a new creative workshop.

Favourite craft

I’ve tried a few different crafts and I love them all for different reasons! Most recently I completed a woodworking course, which was a super useful skill to learn and has me thinking about some furniture projects I could tackle myself. Next on the list is wheel-throwing pottery.

3 top tips to recharge and unwind

  • Create a daily ritual. Bullet journalling has been a huge game changer for me. Having a daily ritual to write down tasks, upcoming events and a few thoughts helps me approach the day with intention. Looking back over old entries is also a nice reminder of how much can happen in a year.
  • Make time for regular connection. Whether it’s a sport, board games or a weekly workshop, having recurring activities makes it easier to maintain friendships and meet new people.
  • Get lost in a good book. Reading before bed is one of my favourite ways to unwind (and if you’re like me, listening to the audiobook at the same time makes it even more immersive!).

3 top tips for embracing creativity

  • Say yes to being a beginner. You don’t need to be an expert to enjoy trying something new.
  • Look for inspiration outside your usual spaces. Some of the best ideas come from unexpected places and different industries.
  • Stay curious. Asking questions, exploring new ideas and learning new skills is where creativity begins.
