What you'll do

If you love the idea of handmade Christmas decorations, this workshop is for you. Whether you’re new to knitting or a seasoned maker, you’ll find plenty to inspire you in this fun and festive class led by accomplished knitter and crochet artist Lyndell Wright.

You’ll learn to create charming knitted decorations, with patterns suited to every skill level — from easy flat designs to more advanced miniatures knitted in-the-round. Lyndell will guide you through the techniques step-by-step, sharing clever knitting tips and helpful tricks along the way. It’s the perfect way to brush up on your skills, try something new, and create unique decorations you’ll treasure year after year.

Please note: all bookings for this workshop are final and strictly non-refundable. However, if you're unable to attend on the day, you can send someone in your place. In the unlikely event that we don't reach the minimum number of participants required to run the workshop, we may cancel the class. In such cases, you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule if new dates are available.

Knowledge required

Anyone who can cast on, knit and purl — from confident beginners to experienced knitters wanting a relaxed, creative session.

What to bring

Yarn in your choice of festive colours (4 ply and/or 8 ply)
Knitting needles suitable for your yarn
2.75 mm or 3 mm needles for 4 ply yarn
4 mm needles for 8 ply yarn
For advanced patterns: a set of Double Pointed Needles (DPNs) in the correct size for your yarn

A selection of tools and materials will also be available to use during the workshop.

Made by Me Workshop is about helping people to connect with their "inner creative" and have some fun while making beautiful things from quality materials in our friendly & vibrant studio space in the heart of the inner west!

Established in 2017 after Rebecca Doyle decided to take a career break and chose to revisit her childhood love for arts & crafts. Rebecca grew up in a large family where money was tight, after school activities where mostly homegrown and usually involved a sheet of cardboard, a glue stick and some glitter! It is probably no surprise to learn that Rebecca followed a creative path to study Fashion & Textile Design at University!

After a few more decades (than Rebecca will publicly admit to) and a long and varied career in the fashion industry, Rebecca wanted to get back to creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind objects - Made By Me Workshop is the result of where this path led.

Rebecca loves that moment of pride that comes over each participant's face when they look at what they have created and say to themselves "Wow - I made this & I love it!"
