If you're looking for creative things to do at home, online Ikebana classes are a lovely option to go for. Take part by yourself or join in with friends and family near or far.

As part of this mindful class, you'll connect with your registered Sogetsu Ikebana teacher online to create two beautiful Japanese style flower arrangments to display in your home.

Your expert teacher will introduce you to Ikebana, providing demonstrations and supportive guidance throughout. You'll feel fully immersed in the experience as you learn all about mindfully arranging flowers, branches, foliage and stems for maximum impact.

Sharing their in-depth knowledge of this special craft, your teacher will show you how to place and fix plant materials within your vessels to help you make the most beautiful pieces.

You'll finish the class with a sense of calm, a host of new skills to use in future projects and two beautiful Ikebana Japanese flower arrangements to display with pride.

  • Worksheet
What you'll need
  • Your choice of floral materials to use in your two Ikebana arrangements.
  • A list of suggested floral materials will be provided in advance of your class. You may choose to purchase your foliage, florals and stems, or you might like to gather these from your own home or garden.

Please note: If you choose the 'Class only, no box' ticket type you will need to provide two vases to house your Ikebana arrangements.

Eclipse Ikebana offers relaxing, fun and creative workshops while teaching you about the beautiful art of Japanese flower arranging.

Practising Ikebana under her official Japanese teaching name, Shoto, Aileen is a qualified Sogetsu Ikebana teacher with a background in teaching art and information technologies.

At the 2019 Wa Melbourne International Ikebana Festival, she was awarded Silver for exhibitors with up to 5 years teaching experience. In 2018, she won the international online Ikebana Gallery Award in both Overall and People's Choice categories. In 2016, her essay 'Ikebana: Respecting the Past, Expressing the Future' was published in the International Journal of Ikebana Studies.
