I'm Nancy from SNS Courses, experienced crochet teacher, qualified in fashion design, dressmaking and patternmaking. My career background includes training, nursing & counselling.
I love everything to do with fabrics and yarn...designing, creating, teaching.
My grandma taught me how to crochet lace collars and doilies when I was 7. I took up knitting and sewing in my teens. After several years of home sewing, I decided to take up formal studies in fashion. Started my dressmaking business working from home while raising my children. I also volunteered in schools teaching hand sewing and crochet.
Several years ago I crocheted a christening dress and won a First prize at the Royal Adelaide Craft Show. It was very exciting to have my creative design and crochet skills recognised.
As a self-care practitioner, I recognised the benefits of creativity for our overall wellbeing, especially mental health. Today, my focus is fully on teaching, promoting creativity and self-sufficiency through my sewing and crochet workshops for kids and adults.
I still make my own clothes and love integrating dressmaking techniques with crochet and knitting.
Several years ago I founded my business SNS Courses with intention to create digital courses but it quickly expanded into a physical business as well.
Hope you enjoy your creative journey as much as I do!
Happy creating,
Nancy
