Love terrariums and want to learn more about the cool science behind them? Join Sciren in Adelaide and learn how to make your own as you sip on your favourite BYO wine or juices!

In this terrarium making class, you will learn all about growing plants in small and large glass vases from an expert gardener and scientist.

Not only will you learn how to nurture and care for your plant, but you'll also learn the step by step process to create one or two of your own terrariums to take home!

Bring along a bottle of your favourite wine and some nibbles to fuel your green thumb as you get creative in this class.

We are sustainably focused at Sciren. The majority of our glassware is upcycled or recycled, usually purchased at Op shops. Have a glass vase you want to use? Bring it along - you might walk away with two terrariums!

Sciren offers science-based workshops by teaching science 'secretly' while we craft and chat. We want everyone to understand science, sometimes the science needs translating. We use craft and hands-on workshops to help you learn.

As a plant biotechnologist, I've gone through the education system to find I needed better ways to learn. I kept seeing crafty hobbies as distractions to my learning. Until I realised they were the perfect vehicle to my learning. Making jam - learn about plant cell walls and pectin. Making a terrarium - learn about greenhouse food production and climate change... it's so much more fun being immersed in learning this way!

We'll help you understand the world we live in by using our passion and knowledge, while we chat and have fun.

I had my birthday party during this class and couldn't think of anything better. All my guests left the room feeling happy because they created something immensely valuable with the help of the teachers. Also with the knowledge and responsibility of looking after a living organism.
100% recommend this class to anyone :D

Easy to find as I'm from the other side of town. Bianca's manner was both cheerful, informative and fun. The class was also knowledgeable on many levels, so it wasn't just putting plants in a container and not learning anything about the plants, ecosystem, and environment and environmental knowledge about sustainability. Loved my plants and the items to construct my Terrarium. Many thanks Bianca. Looking forward to my next Class in July making a Kokedama. Back to Class Bento to look for more things to do.
