Looking for a fun and relaxed night out in Sydney?
Join Mexican cookbook author Rosa Cienfuegos for a hands-on Mexican Tortilla & Taco Experience where food, culture, and community come together around the table. This is not a MasterChef-style cooking class. Instead, it’s a welcoming and social experience designed for people who love good food, meeting new people, and discovering authentic Mexican traditions in a relaxed environment.
During the evening, you’ll learn about the cultural importance of corn tortillas in Mexican cuisine and have the opportunity to press and cook your own tortillas using traditional techniques. Rosa will share stories, tips, and practical knowledge gathered from a lifetime of cooking and teaching Mexican food.
Once your tortillas are ready, we’ll sit down together and enjoy a delicious communal taco feast with homemade salsas, traditional toppings, and seasonal fillings. Depending on the evening, you may also enjoy Latin music, creating the feeling of a Mexican gathering rather than a formal class.

My Story
I’m Rosa Cienfuegos, a Mexican cultural producer, author, educator and curator of Latin American cultural experiences based in Sydney.
For more than 15 years, I have created workshops, community events, cultural programs and creative experiences that bring people together through food, music, storytelling, art and shared traditions.
While many people first discovered my work through Mexican cuisine and my internationally published cookbooks, my passion has always been creating opportunities for people to learn, connect and experience culture in meaningful and memorable ways.
Today, I curate and deliver a diverse range of workshops and experiences led by artists, musicians, educators, makers, cooks and cultural practitioners from across Latin America and Australia’s multicultural communities.
Our experiences include cooking classes, music and guitar workshops, arts and crafts, wellbeing sessions, cultural storytelling, creative workshops and community learning experiences designed to inspire curiosity, creativity and connection.
I believe cultural experiences should be welcoming, accessible and joyful. Whether you’re learning a traditional recipe, exploring a new creative skill, discovering a cultural tradition or simply meeting new people, every workshop is an opportunity to connect through shared experiences.
I look forward to welcoming you to one of our classes and helping you discover the richness, creativity and diversity of Latin American culture.
