My partner and I made mugs and we can’t wait to see the end result.

  • 5/5 from Sarah Lepre, attended Aug 2026: Highly recommend this class - the teachers explained the techniques well, were actively there to support and were incredibly patient. We weren’t limited to select choices and had the freedom to make our own item. They had fun stamps you could use and great paint colours to choose from. Great for beginners :)
  • 5/5 from Angel Tsang, attended Aug 2026: Terrific instructors guided us through the step-by-step process of hand building clay. A small group setting meant the instructors were able to assist each person where needed. The studio space was cute and felt cosy. Learnt so much in just one workshop. Highly recommend for absolute beginners.

Of course he made it look all so easy! The atmosphere is very intimate and relaxed. I was on my own but I would say everyone else enjoyed the session as much as I did and came away having learnt a lot in 2 hours. I particularly liked that we were given free rein to create whatever we wanted, with enough advice and assistance to achieve our creation. Thanks Shane & Air!

I visited with my child and a group of friends, and it was truly a memorable activity for all of us. Shane, our instructor, was incredibly engaging and made the entire session both fun and informative. His teaching style is clear, patient, and very encouraging, which made it easy for beginners to enjoy the process. The studio itself has a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere, making it a perfect place to relax and get creative. We all had an amazing time and left with big smiles (and our own handmade pieces!). Highly recommended – a perfect activity for families and friends. 10/10 experience!
  • 5/5 from Jiraporn Rudeesaicharoensuk, attended Jul 2026: Time absolutely flew by because we were having so much fun. It was a fantastic way to relax, exercise our creativity, and make something special with our own hands. I loved creating my very own forever mug, and I'll treasure it for years to come. Highly recommend this class for anyone looking for a fun and memorable experience!
  • 5/5 from Verena Kostandy, attended Jul 2026: A massive thank you to Shane and Air for being amazing during our class. They were very attentive and quick to jump in to help when needed. Instructions were clear and the class was easy to follow. We will definitely be back!
  • 5/5 from For: Ryker, attended Jul 2026: Market Studio's Clay, Paint & Hands is one of the Inner West's true hidden gems. Tucked away in the charming streets of Annandale, it feels like stepping into a little world of creativity and magic. The studio shop is filled with beautiful handmade ceramics that make perfect gifts – mugs, ceramic lamps, jewellery holders, incense holders, magnets and so much more. Every piece is unique and made with so much care. The classes are thoughtfully run and welcoming for all skill levels, whether you're picking up clay for the first time or already have experience. The encouragement, creativity and warmth that fill the space make it such a special place to be. I honestly can't recommend Market Studio highly enough. If you love art, creativity or are simply looking for something inspiring to do, you have to check it out. Thank you, Market Studio, for constantly inspiring our community and bringing a little more magic to the Inner West.
  • 5/5 from Tamara Ryan, attended Jul 2026: So grateful for the class today, was brilliant. Very disability friendly too. Highly recommend checking them out!
  • 5/5 from Sarah Hamad, attended Jul 2026: Had such a lovely time creating my own little piece. The instructors were helpful and took the time to make sure we all got the help we needed. It’s such a friendly place to be. Would recommend doing a class ️
  • 5/5 from Emily Harrison, attended Jul 2026: Was such a lovely class, had so much fun. Did this with my friend for her birthday, will definitely go again! Teacher was super helpful, helped everyone with whatever project they wanted. Gave just the right amount of help that you felt confident with what you were making, but not too much help where it felt like you were back at school . Highly highly recommend
  • 5/5 from Hong Thu Christina Le, attended Jul 2026: Teachers were very lovely and patient, passionate about their work. The studio is very cosy and a nice place to spend time with friends. They've inspired me to pick up pottery as a hobby after their session!
  • 4/5 from Valerie Shum, attended Jul 2026: Small class size so there was plenty of help during the session. Demo for how to handbuild was solid and thorough. A tip would be to come to class with an idea of what you'd already like to make. You'll have enough clay to make a mug but additional clay will cost extra. I made the biggest mug I could and I'm happy with the result overall. The turnover is 6 weeks before you can collect the piece.
  • 5/5 from Montana Johnson, attended May 2026: our teacher was super friendly and helpful! when we were struggling they were happy to help us bring our creations to life. I could not be happier with the outcome and will definitely be going back for more classes in the future
  • 5/5 from Tyler Fullerton, attended May 2026: Absolutely loved this class! Shane was an awesome teacher. Highly recommend to anyone!
  • 5/5 from Sarah Bowley, attended May 2026: I attended this pottery class for my 20th birthday and myself and all my friends had so much fun, our teacher Shane was super helpful and funny and made sure all our peices looked amazing and functional. The atmosphere of the studio is amazing and we got to play our own music through their speakers. This is my second time doing this class and every time I have so much fun creating something new! I definitely recommend to everyone it’s something that you can have fun doing at any age!! Shane is the best! Also for the fact that he made a private class especially for my birthday even though he had a market stall going on that weekend at finder keepers markets!

The space is also gorgeous!

Highly recommend if you’re looking for something different and enjoyable.
