Six Week Wheel Throwing Course: Beginner and Next Steps

Learn how to wheel throw and make your own ceramics on the wheel!

6 x 2 hours - 2.5 hours Class size 1 to 6 guests

$485 - $545 (price varies across dates) (PayPal Pay in 4 available)

We offer a wheel throwing course that is suitable for beginners or as a next step if you have completed a course and are keen to learn more and be guided by a teacher. We have two options; 2 hour or 2.5 hour sessions over six weeks. Our courses are up to six customers and we are hands-on!
2 hour sessions - we cover centering clay, making cylinders for cups, using a batt to make small plates and bowls, trimming and carving your work, adding handles and glazing with brush on and dipping glazes.
2.5 hour sessions - we cover centering clay, making taller cylinders, using a batt to make larger plates and bowls, making a lidded vessel, trimming and carving your work and glazing with brush on and dipping glazes.
We offer all course customers a complimentary 2 hour session to complete any glazing on bisque work that wasn't fired by week six.
Please note the below.
We offer a complimentary glazing class once the course is complete to finish glazing any ceramics that have not been fired by week 6. You will still be trimming in week 5 and in cooler weather or if you pieces are thicker they will take longer than a week to dry before we are able to fire them safely. This process is explained in detail in the course. The complimentary class is not on the same night as the course as we have separate times for this and a booking system for customers.
You must be able to attend all classes, if you are unwell, travelling or unable to attend for whatever reason we do not offer a make up class, you do have the option of paying for an additional class which we run on Monday evenings for $65.00
What you'll get
8-10 finished pieces that you make, trim and glaze. Additional ceramics over 10 pieces are charged at a per kilo firing rate of $22 per kilo.
