Introduction to Vicmarc Machinery Workshop

A hands-off workshop for budding woodturners and woodworkers featuring Marco from Vicmarc Machinery

2 hours

Class size 1 to 20 (public classes), 5 to 30
  $10

This workshop is a special session dedicated to all things Vicmarc. Whether you're considering adding a new Vicmarc lathe or accessory to your workshop, or looking to get more out of the Vicmarc products you already own, this session is for you.
In this two-hour workshop, you'll have direct, unhurried access to Marco, Manager of Vicmarc, in an open forum setting. Not a dealer. Not a distributor. The man at the centre of the operation, and the person responsible for building the machines that serious turners across Australia, the UK, the US, and beyond have chosen for decades.
The session is driven entirely by the questions and interests of attendees, making it a personalised experience for you to get the specific information you need. Upon enrolment, you'll receive a short questionnaire via email so we can tailor the session to the questions that matter most to you and make the best use of your time with Marco.
A note on what this workshop is and isn't. This session is dedicated entirely to Vicmarc lathes and lathe accessories: the machines, their specifications, their setup, their add-ons, and how to get the most out of them. It is not a woodturning class. No tools on timber, no technique demonstrations. Just honest, straight-from-the-source conversation about the machinery serious turners choose.
Learning Objectives and Outcomes
  • Gain a clear understanding of the Vicmarc lathe range and the accessories available for them.
  • Learn how to use and maintain your Vicmarc machinery effectively for long-term performance.
  • Receive personalised, expert advice directly from Marco: straight from the source, not the brochure.
  • Understand the key considerations when starting out or upgrading with Vicmarc products.
  • Get clarity on which lathe model, chuck, or accessory is the right fit for your workshop and ambitions. Walk away with answers that no spec sheet, review, or retailer could give you.
With Vicmarc products on hand and an open forum discussion, you'll have the opportunity to view and discuss a strong selection of the Vicmarc range in person. We'll have plenty to get your hands on and talk through on the day. Marco will share practical guidance on getting the most out of your Vicmarc machinery, helping you protect your investment and work with confidence. Even if a specific Vicmarc product isn't physically in the room, Marco can speak to any product in the range in full detail. No question is off limits.
If you own Vicmarc tools or accessories and have specific questions, bring them along. Getting eyes on your own setup from the man who knows the range inside out is a rare opportunity.
Spaces for this 2-hour workshop are limited, so secure your spot today. This is a rare chance to sit down with the manager of Vicmarc, ask every question you've been holding onto, and walk away with the clarity you need: whether that's a new machine, an accessory upgrade, or simply getting more from what you already own. There's no pressure to buy and no pitch. Just two hours with the right person in the room.

There’s a certain magic in creating something with your own two hands. The focus it demands, the joy it imparts, the sense of accomplishment when you transform a simple piece of timber into something extraordinary. At Wood Academy, we celebrate the power of craftsmanship, the way it can ignite passion, inspire creativity, and instil a deep sense of satisfaction. It’s why we believe in one simple truth: Wood Work is good work. The more makers in this world, the better.
