Wood Burning Workshop - Donut Boards

Learn how to create a unique and personalized gift at our wood-making workshop in Kogarah. In this beginner-friendly class, you'll discover the art of wood burning and create your very own donut board. Donut boards are popular centrepieces at buffets and dessert tables at weddings and bridal showers.

In this class, you will learn the basics of wood burning and have the opportunity to let your creativity shine as you design and create your own donut board. Don't worry if you've never tried wood work before - our expert instructor will guide you through the process, ensuring that you feel confident and at ease every step of the way.

During the two-hour workshop, you'll be provided with all the materials you need to bring your vision to life. The timber board*, burning tools, stencils, pencils, rubbers, hammers, and dowels (small wooden poles) will all be available for you to use. Just bring along your imagination and creative flair, and if you have a favourite pattern or font with text that you want on your board, feel free to print it out on paper and bring it with you.

Our workshop is suitable for all ages and abilities, making it the perfect activity to enjoy with friends, family, or even on your own. You'll have the opportunity to learn a new skill and unleash your creativity, all while creating a one-of-a-kind handmade donut board. By the end of the class, you'll have a beautiful and personalized piece to take home or gift to a loved one.

Couples who want to work on the same board are welcome (just book 1 ticket!)

Please note that no alcohol is to be consumed during the class to ensure the safety of all participants. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to explore more designs and styles by purchasing your instructor's boards in the studio.

* Timber board dimensions are:
Boards for adults: approx. 40cm x 65cm with 12 dowels
Boards for kids: approx. 30cm x 60cm with 9 dowels

• Your friendly teacher to guide you.
• A timber board (For adults, the board will be approx. 40cm x 65cm with 12 dowels; the kids board will be approx. 30cm x 60cm with 9 dowels)
• All other materials and tools will be supplied.
• You will take home your completed (and ready-to-use) donut board!

• Wear clothes that you don't want to get dirtied or oiled on.
• BYO snacks and drinks.
• A printed pattern or font that you would like to use on the board (optional)
