I am a graduate of UNSW Art & Design currently searching for a part-time job in teaching drawing/painting (especially with male life models) and considering setting up a small space/studio for me to teach a class once I earn the amount salary that is adequate enough to me. I would prefer to collaborate with male models for these conditions as it is safer and more comfortable, manageable for me to teach.
When I attend some life drawing sessions, I noticed that some models like to giggle and give little advice to some artists on building up their confidence in drawing and navigating their own style. Even though these aspects look small, but I feel that they are some kind of precious inspiration that I thought of: Apart from me just teaching with the model based on anatomy and poses, I would also highly encourage the models to also take part in some sections of hosting; possibly explaining what kind of style/theme/vibe complements them and how to apply it into their anatomy and poses.
As a kid, I was highly motivated by how the changes of various graphical; typography and illustrational forms made great effects for public branding purposes such as signages, posters, installations and renovations etc. I am strongly passionate about my career expansion between art and design because I feel like I am in my moment where I can truly resonate with myself, being comfortable in my own skin and unafraid to express my style and to bring connections between things that hardly exist.
I would love to apply for a part-time teaching job because it profoundly motivates me to spread happiness for other people and embracing growth and laughter when me make happy mistakes. In addition, I believe that teaching would help me to expand my friendship zone; building confident relationships that creates wonderful memories.
One of the best experiences throughout my career is applying modern, unconventional graphic design styles into realistic art forms. I am particularly interested in drawing the male anatomy, especially on the torso and some lower areas. Additionally, I am also deeply interested in colour theory and love to combine it with natural elements such as flowers, trees and human values etc.
A value that most people hardly know from me is that I can observe the differences between male models that come in robes or towels/drapes/blankets/sarongs when they enter/exit platforms or rest during breaks. Ideally, I would prefer to hire the ones that prefer towels/drapes/blankets/sarongs (don't mind the robe ones if highly urgent) as I feel they are more bold, dynamic, open and expressive which highly resonates with my enthusiastic and energetic personalities. I would even sometimes require the models to include their props like that as part of their poses to elevate artistic emotions as well.
Even though this is my first-time teaching, but I am willing to learn from other people and I think that the most important perspective to become an amazing teacher is to lead from my heart, my first impression and surrounding with who I am and my experiences growing up.
For further qualifications and accreditations, I will forward my CV and portfolios through your email.
My greatest ambition is to open my own studio filled with various art medias, design platforms and a space for guests or models to interact with. I want to create a project blending the beauty of male anatomy with human nature. Through that ambition, I also want to create an environment and workshops where it goes beyond relationships between me as an artist and the male models, but also swapping each other's positions to enhance inspiration and versatility in roles. I want the models to feel like they are not just posing for their job but also for connecting with what they want to achieve and learning to be role models for the next generations.
For further notice, depending on my family's condition, I am usually away from Australia between mid-December to February. I will inform your team by around late November to early December the latest. Even though this teaching period may be shorter, I will definitely return to Australia next year around February to continue my part-time teaching job for you as I would also be pursuing my advanced academic degree and searching for other part-time jobs. Other than that, I will enjoy and treasure my time wisely and hoping to earn as much salary and experience as I can.
