I loved the focus on the body and the brilliant use of embroidery and other embellishment over the paper collage to add movement, interest, texture and colour. I've never used rhinestones before, but this felt 100% right! Simon was so encouraging and helpful, and made himself available to everyone around the table, gently prompting us to explore the interplay of different images and arrangements and what they might communicate, and offering generous feedback. I completed one collage at the workshop and started a second one - which I contemplated all week and was very pleased with how it turned out when i finished it yesterday at home. Thank you also Kubi for accommodating my dietary requests for lunch - the vegan gluten free salad was delicious; and I love the new venue.

I really appreciated the Sunday workshop and the 10-3 time which allowed us to make 2 collages and feel motivated to keep making. I made one today and that makes me so happy. I'll be back for more!

I really did enjoy a more in depth briefing compared to the one I earlier joined in Randwick (two hours only back then). Kubi started off with a good introductory talk accompanied by slides—if you'd turned up with no ideas at all in your head, this would've given you plenty of inspiration. It felt thorough and wide-ranging, even though it didn't steal very much time from the actual making. The materials were a good selection of art, architecture, travel and nature books and magazines, plenty to go around. Once we started, Kubi moved around the room keeping an eye on things, helping people who were lost or stuck, making suggestions but not pushy about it. The gallery showing at the end was great—it was fascinating to see what people had come up with. It was fun to collage in a group; it didn't matter how much or how little you chatted with your neighbours as you each worked on your own piece, it all felt comfortable. Would recommend and will go again.

The instructor was friendly and honest with his critique and the presentation at the beginning was very helpful. I have since continued to collage at home trying to come up with ideas around texture, scale, composition and colour.

Kubi gave a great informative talk at the beginning and was very kind and encouraging with giving advice, he is a great artist but also a good teacher. Can highly recommend.

We learnt some principles about collage and were shown examples from artists which were inspiring. Materials were provided and enough time to complete an A3 collage each. The teacher was clear and gave extra individual timely advice. the atmosphere was friendly with people chatting to their friends but also inclusive of others who had come alone, like me. At the end, all the collages were presented and we could look at everyone else's work. This was my favourite part of the workshop.

Steve inspired us all and it was so much fun creating collages - two by the end of the day. Everyone's work was wonderful and different. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun. The teacher, Kubi, had an ideal mix of advice and encouragement when needed with freedom for students to explore their own ideas. The portraits that were provided proved an excellent starting point so that there was some structure to the exercise but also room for creativity. The materials provided and the venue were very suitable for the class.

Our instructor, Kubi, was incredibly knowledgable and gave excellent and clear direction to get the most of our couple of hours of creative time. I attended the workshop by myself, and found it to be really welcoming and friendly. I was able to just go about my collage making independently without too much stress or worry I was 'doing it right'. Seeing the group's work exhibited briefly at the end of the workshop was really fun. Would recommend this workshop to any individual or small group that was keen to get creative without it being too intimidating.

It was the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Kubi's guidance was insightful and inspiring, making the process enjoyable for participants of all skill levels. The resources provided were fantastic, with a great variety of materials to spark creativity. If you're looking for a creative outlet or simply a delightful way to spend your weekend, this course is a must-try.
